Cosy corner style pub, just a short walk from the main railway station, and Hallam Uni campus. Great selection of beer, wine and spirits. Food also available. Friendly atmosphere, and knowledgeable staff. Well worth seeking out when in the area.

One of my favourite pubs in Sheffield, continues to go from strength to strength in the many years I've known it. The food is brilliant and not just predicable "pub grub" yet entirely affordable, the beer selection varied and frequently changing, and the atmosphere second to none. The beer garden adds another compelling reason to visit.
A great little pub with a top selection of beer and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Beer garden was a bonus. Food looked great but we weren't eating unfortunately. Highly recommended.

I’m only going on my memories here but the Rutland has a special place for me when I 1st used to go there a lot when I 1st lived in sheffield i was a young un then and it has a cozy species place like putting on a pair of slippers I look now and I’m sure it’s a trendy hip place and not sure if it’s for me but I’m pleased it’s survived would love to go again

Found this pub by chance yesterday- what a great pub! Bar staff were friendly, the beer was good and the food smelled and looked delicious! I will definitely be trying some next time I'm in Sheffield.
Had a fab Rutty Butty and my hubby had a vegan chip butty. The only suggestion would be to in invest in a tub of vegan marg to spread on the bread as it was a bit dry.

Good range of Cask Ale. Excellent Bar Food. Juke Box has some great music on it. A pub well worth looking out for.
Nice old school pub, five minutes from the station. Decent, well kept beer, quirky juke box, friendly locals and staff. Well worth a visit for one before the train back north

Very friendly pub. Can be busy inside, but usually space in the Beer Garden which is very nice in warm weather.
Always an interesting range of beers on tap. Food is available to order at times throughout the day.
Restrooms are also worth a visit! 😜
Excellent pub, great rock & metal playlist. Great food, with several veggie options. Extensive selection of ales/beers & drinks. Interesting artwork & murals on the walls. Nice atmosphere, very welcoming. Pretty close to the train station as well.
By far the best pub in Sheffield! Leftist, queer (friendly), great selections of beers and delicious food (incl free beef for dogs <3) , and a very wonderful staff. Like a second home in Sheffield , would 100% recommend.

I bloody love the Rutland. My favourite pub in Sheffield. Always an interesting range of beer on both cask and keg. The food is of a quality so much higher than you will find in any pub. The place has bags of character. The decor, the jukebox rules and the funny little jokes they have...that mostly confuse customers but I expect make the staff laugh at our baffled faces.
Excellent beer selection on cask and keg, with some pretty rare stuff (as noted by the recent media stuff about the ‘£21 pint’, which is in the second photo).
This place is weird in the best way possible! Love the draft beer selection. Love the bottle and can selection. Love the quirkiness. Awesome staff. Really enjoyed the beef cheek and other good valued small plates. Wonderful pub.
I was highly recommended this Pub for its large selection of beers, great food and welcoming atmosphere. Certainly a nice vibe and a friendly customer base, beers were pretty amazing and the price very reasonable. Unfortunately the menu was a little disappointing since we had heard of much more diverse dishes being offered in the past but hey ho we ordered a couple of sandwiches and they were definitely very tasty. The main thing I like about this place though, everyone’s pretty open and cheerful, that’s what matters most.
Wonderful pub, staff are friendly and has a great atmosphere. Was not too busy when we were there so if you don't like crowds could be one for you. The chips were amazing...
Fantastic classic traditional pub with a brilliant selection of beers and sold at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff peeps, too. Highly recommended if you're ever in Sheffield.

It is small, so getting a table isn't always easy, but there is a large outdoor area, some of which is covered.

A great pub with more character than dozens of chain pubs put together. Interesting range of cask and craft beer and good food which mixes classics with the slightly more adventurous.It's clear they love what they do. Well worth a visit.
I just want to drink ales and kick it in this joint. everyone is excellent for all the right reasons and the beer is good too.
Loved this place - a proper pub, a massive choice of good beers and ciders, a menu that includes an excellent chip butty and a jukebox with all my old 70s favourites. Took me back 50 years - in a good way!

Brilliant old school style real pub serving a huge selection of fine beers of many different varieties. Has been about 10 yrs in-between visits for me unfortunately but I'm pleased to report it is still as good as I remember.
