This has become one of our favourite pubs, we visited yesterday with friends. The choice of both drinks and food was excellent and when the food arrived it was delicious, not for the first time. The staff above all are the cogs in a well oiled “Head of Steam” friendly, attentive and very sociable which added to the ambience of the place along with some great soft background music.

The Head of Steam is a really good place to drink and socialise. It is a large place as once being a bank. There is a lot of selection in real ales too. Friendly staff too.

Great pub and scenery inside, and lots of beers with my favourite Erdinger on draft, also the food was nice. Miles better than the monk before it

I loved it. 80s music wicked cocktails Highly recommend the bramble. Didn’t buy it myself but will do next time. Lovely atmosphere for afternoon beverages.

Came here after the half marathon. It was super busy but we managed to get a table. The wait was long for food, which we were warned about, and the staff were very apologetic. We didn't mind as we were chatting but their care for service was really refreshing! They even offered us a free round of drinks!! Another great thing was that it was dog friendly and our puppy loved it there! We will definitely return next time we are in Sheffield.

The food was reasonably priced and delicious. We had the fish pie, full of salmon, cod and juicy prawns. Atmosphere buzzing, friendly staff and ideal location for the theatres

What can I say... We called in, having never been before, mainly to get out of the rubbish weather and were impressed. Fantastic range of beers/ales of tap and bottle. The food was great, even though we hadn't planned to eat, all 4 of our group thoroughly enjoyed it and all said we would definitely be returning.

What a great place, suitable for everyone and anyone. The atmosphere was great and the service was superb. Decided to eat here as the menu was different and am so glad we did. It was full of flavour, great portion sizes and presented well.

Didn't used to like this place but there is a really good selection on tap and plenty of cans. A little pricey but not too bad. Have had a fair few really good pints in there

This place is really good in terms of its variety of drinks, particularly if you are into weird gins or Belgian/Trappist beers. They even have Delirium on tap! Their food menu is decent, comforting post-drink food and I've never had a problem with it. They have a huge beer garden to the rear which is especially nice during the summer or when the Snooker is on across the way at the crucible. My only feedback (which might make me sound a bit boring and might even be a bit unfair) is that the music in this place is so loud. I totally get the appeal of going to a noisy bustling place during evenings or weekends with some decent music but it's definitely on the louder side and therefore isn't somewhere I visit if the focus is on nattering as opposed to eating or drinking.

Great pub with an excellent range of ale's, lager, cocktails and cider. Quite noisy for me but a good atmosphere.

Went here on a Sunday evening, had a lovely cocktail and there was a fabulous magician! He came round to our table and did some tricks, all for free! Was very entertaining and really made a nice change as usually used to loud live music or something similst as entertainment! Only thing I would say that it is quite expensive, but I guess that's understandable being so close to the crucible.

The atmosphere here was great, they had games that you could play but it seemed that a lot of people had taken some pieces to things which was a shame. I had a vegan burger with seasoned fries which were really delicious and my friends and I shared some onion rings and vegan chicken wings, again both were really nice. I did feel like the price of the wings didn't match how much we got but they were still delicious. It was my first time here and I'll definitely be back.

We called in for a quick drink at the end of the evening with a few friends for a drink. We didn't eat so can't comment on the food. The bar staff were working extremely hard to ensure that a busy crowd got served in a timely manner and even went the extra mile to recommend drinks and let me try an ale before I committed to it. It was delicious. There was a live singer on and a great atmosphere.
