Celebrated a family birthday at the old horns inn last night and what a wonderful evening it was. The view waa unbelievable, the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming and the food delicious. We had several (loud) children in our group but we were still made welcome and the staff couldn't do enough for them. I will happily recommend this pub to anyone and everyone and shall be back in the near future! Thankyou again to all the staff for a lovely evening
Smashing lunchtime meal great friendly service and excellent value for your money. Such a delightful pub in the village of Bradfield on the outskirts of Sheffield. Main course inside and a dessert on the rear raised patio area with spectacular views across the value
Vistited Tonight with my wife and 3 children various ages , the food was absolutely top notch pub food and the staff fantastic and friendly, will definitely be visiting again especially as the kids wanted desert
Lovely friendly atmosphere, great value and plenty food on the plate .
Nice country pub well worth a visit.
Fantastic food, views and friendly staff, great meal sat out on the back of the pub taking in the last few hours of sun this eve. Will 100% revisit
First time at Old Horns for awhile. Not because of any bad experience or anything my wife and I are both on a diet. But as it was my wife's birthday we decided to go out for a meal at our favorite venue. I had the mixed grill and my wife had the spicy combo mix. Both meals were excellent. We shall be visiting again.
Excellent food well worth the wait, wanted the carvery but was seated upstairs and my disabled wife found the stairs awkward so ordered off the menu instead but very nice.
Great location with amazing views. We had to wait for a table on Friday lunchtime, but only about 10 minutes, and the food and service were great. I had small cod and chips, which was lovely. Very fresh moist cod and certainly big enough. I saw large fish and chips being served - too much for me! Great value. My son had the Elvis Last Burger which was great too.
Recently visited here for lunch following a great day out with a friend and our 2 dogs and it was the perfect end to an amazing day.
The location of the pub is great, it’s nicely tucked away in the Peak District with breathtaking views to the valley and situated next to a gorgeous medieval church.
We were welcomed by lovely staff and shown to a window table out of the way so our dogs could feel relaxed as well.
The establishment was very tastefully decorated for the upcoming Christmas holiday and felt nice, warm and cozy.
We ordered a couple of soft drinks and some mulled wine to drink and as for the food, we shared a portion of squid then carried on with a homemade lasagna and a steak pie.
All dishes came out very appetising and delicious.
Our only criticism is perhaps that the lasagna weren’t layered with pasta and béchamel as it was served as a meat ragu topped with mozzarella cheese but still it was very tasty.
We will definitely be back for more preferably when the weather gets warmer so we can take full advantage of that gorgeous views around.
Thank you for making our dining experience special ☺️
Simply amazing. Been wanting to go here for a while. Went Wednesday afternoon and due to the lovely weather I think it was busier than usual maybe. Either way we were told we could hang about near bar and get a drink and a table shouldn’t be long. They were right, soon as we got the drinks a waitress said there’s a table for us ready as they were all keeping an eye out for us.
We had Yorkshire pudding wrap and it was gorgeous. Gravy great too and lovely home made chips! Prices very reasonable and the beer garden is the best I’ve been too. The views are outstanding!
Bear in mind car park isn’t massive so limited spaces, we managed to grab one at front by luck.
Definitely visit again without a doubt!
I've not had any food there yet but look forward to trying it very soon.
They have a great selection of beer, including some from the local Bradfield brewery.
Definitely worth the trip and the views are fantastic
This was our first visit to The Old Horns. Easy to find with a reasonably large car park and a fantastic view. There is a nice outside seating area where you can eat. We booked a table before we arrived and I'm glad we did it was very busy. There were four of us , we ordered three different pies, lamb and mint, steak and Stilton and dam busters plus and a chefs Platter (a bit like a mixed grill) the food was beautifully cooked, tasty and huge man sized portions. The only downside side was three meals were delivered to the table together and the fourth meal was delayed for some reason about 10 minutes after the others, apologies were given as a miscommunication. We opened a tab at the bar and ordered three rounds of drinks and added the food, it came to £126.00 altogether which I thought was reasonable. We would definately eat here again. There was a lovely atmosphere.
Family pub serving hearty meals. It was busy when we visited (definitely worth booking ahead) and they warned us there would be a wait for the food. But it was warm and comfortable with pretty decorations, so we relaxed and enjoyed our drinks. When the food arrived it was great, with huge portions (I couldn’t eat all of mine) and good fresh vegetables.
Left feeling contented.
Our first visit to the Old Horns Inn - it was truly amazing. We visit lots of pubs and are very picky with food and service, but we have to say that that was the best meal we’ve had for a very long time. The homemade pie, both the lamb and also the beef was beautiful, all homemade with home cooked chips. The staff were very polite and efficient and without a doubt we’ll definitely be returning. The views on the back are wonderful, which we cannot wait to see in the summer. Good pubs with fantastic food are hard to come by, but we strongly recommend this place. 😊
Amazing views and fabulous food. The portion sizes are huge, so go there starving and you'll still have leftovers. Friendly staff too
Food was nice, we had to the deals a starter and main for £12. I was expecting them to be a kids size was surprised it as bigger then expected. The service was poor we went in to be pointed to our table with words of it's up there on Ur right. I am bit funny with dogs aswell. It's nice that places are dog friendly but for me watching the staff playing hugging dog then bringing my food over without washing my hands was not what I expect from any food place. This is just very poor food hygiene.
A beautiful, classic pub with gorgeous views. The food is consistently fantastic with an extensive menu that has something for everyone. There’s a lovely balcony and garden as well! Truly the best pub food I’ve ever had!!!!
Went after a funeral. The food was delicious. The views are amazing.
Birthday treat, and it really was. Family have recommended this for a while. I have regrets that i have not been before. Stunning views, cater for all needs and for a girl with a big appetite could not finish the amazing meal. Many more visits to follow. Brilliant 👍
Great place
Will be returning more frequently
Especially as Dog 🐕 friendly
More than fish & chips. Lunch & dinner served at this country pub. Seating inside & outside in the fresh air.
Yorkshire pudding pictured below - tasted great and filled me up.
Plenty of great English beers - some made down the road - and the lunch specials are great.
Party / events room for large groups.
Great stop for hikers, bikers & tourists as well as locals.
Good busy pub, well more of a restaurant that sells beer these days, it's where the money is! Good food though, very small car park be aware! Lovely views too. And yes they sell food for your dogs , yep they are rabbit's ears 🤭
Fantastic meal as usual! Lamb and mint pie is great. 😁
A very nice pub, with a country feel.
Scenic views of the surrounding valley.
A friendly, smily welcome as soon as we arrived.
Attentive & helpful staff.
All the food that was being brought out looked very nice & the staff were busy keeping up with orders. Our food arrived within 20 - 25 minutes ( shows that nothing is being banged in a microwave ).
All the meals were well presented & portions are generous.
Reyt dirty burger with proper chips ( check out the menu for what's in this big burger ).
Limited car parking spaces, but found one without a problem.
I recommend The Old Horns Inn for a quick bite or a leisurely pint after a walk.
Nice Thwaites pub with beautiful beer garden views across the local valley. Arrived at 11:30 on Sunday. We hadn't booked, although thankfully we were offered a table until 1pm. Friendly staff and (chain) food at reasonable prices. MySteak & Onion Cheese Melt sandwich was delicious, with a huge piece of rump steak and beautiful home made chips. My steak was a little gristley, although for the price I can't complain. My partner had the Philli Steak, which was an equally generous portion. Will definitely return soon
