Great night last night, friendly staff, really enjoyed the fish platter starter for £18.00, fed four of us. We all had mains, 2 puds, 1 x bottle of Sauvignon blanc, half litre of house red, 1 x bottle of coke, and 1 x cappuccino, all for £133.00. As we left, the place was full, and people being turned away to come back later. Great value, friendly, excellent service, good quality food. Thank you
We all had a delicious, lovely meal and the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. I had fish and it was so fresh! Would recommend to others!
Lovely, tiny and buzzing restaurant. Always lovely food and friendly staff. I ordered the lamb was cooked beautifully and nice healthy portion! Always go back
Fancied a burger and for the first visit was amazed best burger in Sheffield, oops sorry uncle Sams. Will be back to try something else.
Was recommended this place by a friend and we weren't disappointed. We ended up having the set menu deal which was lovely and reasonably priced as the portions were large. My only critisim was the choice was so large I was spoilt for choice so we will have to go back. Lovely staff too xx
Great place, lovely staff amazing food and plenty of it... (You won't have to make cheese and crumpets when you get home!!)
The menu is vast .... so much to choose from you will need to visit regularly :).
The wine is very palatable too!!
Atmosphere great, food outstanding and staff friendly and knowledgable.
Been a few times now and can’t fault anything.
Once they have sold out, it’s gone, it’s good food to order.
Well priced for me also.
Been with my partner on a date night and also took my mum for a belated Mother’s Day, and it’s good for any occasion.
Will be going back soon.
Popped in for a late lunch today. Fantastic food and friendly staff. Wish I'd had room for pudding!!
Best pie EVER! Just a shame that this place is an hours drive away, mind you the trip would be worth it for that pie
One of my fave places to eat - great choice for us veggies too. Imaginative, extensive menu, all dishes are reasonably priced & all prepared from fresh ingredients - cant fault it !
Popped in after taking my son back to Uni, he lives nearby and recommended it. Food was delicious, and so much to choose from I decided in the end on the mushroom risotto to start , it was yummy and plenty of it, then the smoked haddock gratin for my main, I was just sorry I couldn't have a glass of wine as I was driving back to Liverpool. Prices were so reasonable for the quality of food. Service was great I will definitely be revisiting when next in Sheffield . Just want to add a very varied vegetarian menu too. Thank you !!
First-ever visit to this location for family evening meal. Excellent ambience, service and food. Will be back!
Love this place. The menu is amazing and never disappoints.
We visited on a busy Saturday night with friends. The food was great. We had starters, mains and desserts and all courses were delicious. I would recommend as a casual place to eat at Lunch or dinner. Really relaxed and great service Thank you
In Sheffield for a few days on holiday and was recommended this place so thought I'd give go
Wasn't disappointed from start to finish
Even through you can't book a table here we didn't have to wait long to get one
Friendly greeting on arrival to a well fitted out vibrant restaurant that was buzzy but not over noisy
On sitting down your presented with a massive menu nicely presented on black boards on the wall, great choice across all courses making the choice rather difficult
Service is efficient and friendly with drink and food orders coming up quickly
Food across all courses was well presented, fresh and very tasty and plenty of it and at good prices
We left the there happy, content with full belly's and having not burnt a hole in our pockets
Would definitely go back if ever in the area
Excellent!. The food is divine and the service is excellent. The food is rustic and looks amazing, however some of the food comes on wooden platters and is therefore sometimes a bit messy.
Enjoy!
Highly Recommended. This is the most reliable restaurant in my neighbourhood.
The service is great, not snoooty, not disinterested - but friendly professional and warm.
The food is just great. Tasty, generous portions.
You can't reserve a table, which means if its full you might not get a seat.
Actually why am I telling you this? I want a seat! Stay away!
I really enjoyed my evening, Excellent !!!
A fantastic meal. Food took along time to come but a great evening
Very warm welcome as soon as we walked through the door and the high standards followed all the way through our visit. Great food and a very nice bitter on tap from a local brewery. Definitely recommended!

Thyme cafe. Always excellent, great atmosphere, very bustling. An ever evolving blackboard menu offers fantastic choice and good value. Don't deliberate for too long, take a chance and order something unusual, they will not let you down
Nice food, I can strongly reccomend the burger, it's yummy!
Great find, food was excellent portions were huge. The four meet Sunday lunch is a must on any Sunday. The sticky toffee pudding is one of the best I have had. The normal menu looks good too can't wait to try it out soon. Staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn't recommend this place enough.
Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff. Nice you can book online to secure a table. Food was lovely - nice to get a proper pie (not just a lid) and the steak filling was delicious. The Spanish stew from the specials board was also delicious. Big dessert portions. I chose the bread and butter pudding.
We visited on a friday evening and had requested for the set menu, which ends at 18:30. We had booked a table for 18:30 and although the set menu had officially finished, staff were great in allowing us to use the set menu. It was quite crowded and cramped however food was lovely, staff were so nice and helpful and attentive. We had been recommended this place by a few people and it was lovely. Will be recommending to other people, great food, great staff and great value for money!
Call me old fashioned, but all I ask from a bistro/restaurant is... serve me hot food, in fair portions that appears to have had a little effort put into it.
I've been to Thyme twice now, and on both occasions, they've excelled in each metric. You might laugh, but lukewarm food seems to be a trend nowadays, but not for Thyme — always piping hot, fresh and bearing the hallmarks of 'made right now, entirely from scratch... just for you... no warmed-up nonsense here.'
On each visit, I ordered form the set menu; going for the burger both times. Good lord. Huge! Huge, piping hot & tasty. The presentation is quite something, too... and that is what I mean about 'effort' — these guys excel in the areas other restaurants often overlook; final execution. Everything is so beautifully arranged/assembled on the plate (or board if you order a burger). Today, I ordered the Crispy Cajun marinated chicken burger and it looked majestic — not just huge, but meticulously presented. In fact, such was the display, that I felt as though eating it would undermine the chef's diligence and craft. I did eat it, of course, and the taste matched the sight — elite!
For dessert, I ordered the apple & blackberry crumble. In a word... otherworldly. Top 3 crumbles of all time, easily. The topping had bite and crunch, while the filling was chunky, smooth and sweet... but crucially, not sickly sweet. Beautifully balanced. Of course... it was hot, now warm, hot! Bravo.
Finally, the team — always friendly, always attentive, always make you feel at home.
Love this place — a real gem.
We arrived at a Saturday lunchtime, it was very busy but we were given a table straight away. Very nice ambiance and extensive blackboard menu.
The fish & chips were excellent, the fish was superbly cooked.
The vegetarian salad was nice with many ingredients, although I expected the roasted butternut squash to be warm.
The halloumi was slightly warm, but I would have preferred the other ingredients to be closer to room temperature than fridge cold.

We came here for lunch on a Sunday. I do recommend booking in advance because it fills up quick.
They had lots of vegetarian options, which seemed to be their forte, but also some for us non veggie.
Portions size was great, I almost couldn't finish mine.
Few but good kiddie options.
I wasn't a fan of the menu on the wall, which was written a bit small and if it wasn't right in front of your table you had to stand around to read, but that's just me. Someone else might find that delightful.
11 of us went here for a family celebration and amongst us we had some special dietary needs i.e. gluten intolerant, vegetarian, a seafood allergy. They had a varied menu that offered options to accommodate the dietary needs. The portions were large and inviting and whilst it was not cheap, it was value for money. I have added a few photos of the three meat Sunday lunch, the salmon etc that we were actually served up so you can judge for yourselves.
I love this place! My favourite restaurant in Sheffield. Excellent food and great service. Lovely atmosphere. Totally recommend!
Delicious food and lovely staff. We chose from the set menu and all really enjoyed what we had. Very good prices too.
The staff were lovely and very helpful.
Just one of the best places for food in Sheffield. Wonderful every time, the staff are great and we have never had even the slightest issue in there. Highly recommended!
Great small restaurant in Broomhill with a lovely atmosphere, good selection of quality homemade food and craft drinks with very welcoming and lovely staff on arrival, who take care from start to end to enjoy my time there.
Highly recommend for lunch and dinner time or any occasion :)
Thank you.
I will definitely be back again :)
Excellent food and very good service throughout thoroughly enjoyed the meal with my family
Unpretentious and well made home cooking with a great service and lovely atmosphere! They also catered for my husband's somewhat difficult dietary requirements despite being busy
This place has existed for as long as I've known Sheffield and the turn over in Broomhill is generally high for eateries, so that's a good sign in itself. The food is always tasty and interesting. Today I had something off the specials board. It was a huge ham hock with black pudding and potatoes. Friendly staff, but they did leave us with the bill a bit too long considering it wasn't that busy. Disabled toilet available towards the back, seats are quite packed in though. Overall good, will go again.
Lovely place, the staff were great and the burger was amazing - one of the best burgers I have had.
Excellent menu choices, nicely cooked with really nice service. Still really good after all these years. Be sure to pre book we saw a lot of walk ins disappointed
