Phenomenal coffee. We had flat whites and cortados with their guest espresso. Perfect milk and art both times. It’s always the best coffee by Steamyard thanks to passionate baristas that love what they do.

The coffee quality here is really excellent in Sheffield. However, if you value ambience along with the taste, this is not a very best choice cafe. The indoor floor looks like a car fixing garage. Unlike most cafe in town, orders are not brought to your table and you have to pick them up. This sometimes causes congestion at the end of the till.

A nice little independent coffee shop. I went in at 9am (when it opens) and it wasn't too busy. Staff are kind and friendly. There is quiet music playing in the background which adds a nice touch. Coffee was tasty but nothing special. I would recommend.

☕🥐🥪 @steamyard 🥪🥐☕ I first discovered Steam Yard when it first opened living nearby as a student. It opened 10 years ago in an old silverworks yard off of Division Street and has been going strong ever since. It has a super laid back and comfortable vibe, a great outdoor area in the yard, and serves up great sarnies cakes and pastries. The coffee is super good here too. We tried their brie and chilli jam toasties which were spot on, but choices for lunch were very limited, just sandwiches from the counter. We also tried an almond crossiant and a raspberry cronut. These were good, very nice but perhaps not the best we've ever had, but still definitely with buying. Overall the atmosphere and coffee is what won us over here rather than the food offering. A lovely place to catch up with a friend or spend an hour getting some work done with a laptop. For more local reviews follow @sheaf_foodies on Instagram 😊

Helpful staff, really lovely food and coffee. I had a toasted vegan sandwich and a bun with oat latte. The noise levels inside were perfect for catching up with my friend, the music was a little loud in the outside area for me. There was a selection of nice gifts/products on sale including local honey.

Very nice little coffee shop in a beautiful out of the way yard, variety of seating options inside and out. Nice selection of food good for breakfast, brunch or a light lunch. Staff all friendly and helpful. Overall a lovely place for a quiet bite.

The courtyard area had all kinds of people from all walks of life filtering in and out, always a sign of quality. My flat white was robust with the right level of bitterness coming through. My mother had high praise for her little vegetable sandwich. And received some fascinating insight into V>VE>VG from the owner

Whenever I go to Sheffield, I always make sure to grab a coffee from Steamyard. Great seletion of coffee and cakes and some very tasty savoury opions as well. Coffee is from Caravan and brewed very well, batch brew and guest espresso are always super delicious. Definitely recommend if you are in Sheffield! The outside seating is lovely and sun trap if you get it on the right day!

Coffee I think is one of the best I’ve tried in Sheffield. However seating often difficult to find as it is limited for space and nearly always busy. Ambience could be improved and music can be overpowering. I do wish that coffee bars did not think they were nightclubs! Maybe they should take a lesson from the Italian coffee shops, of which I’ve visited many…

I always make a stop at steam yard when I’m in town, the best cakes and pastries! Really lovely courtyard to sit in if the sun is shining, tables inside do get very busy over lunch times and weekends but it’s understandable! Great vegan options and wonderful coffee. The sandwiches always look delicious and the staff are very friendly. Love this place, have done for years!

Love the pastries here, actually only found out about it cos the mrs found it on Too good to Go on a random occasion. The pastries and cronuts were absolutely amazing. I’m really sad to see that it’s not been on too good to go for over 6 months … on a plus you must sell out every single day for it to not be put on there but plz do return to Too Good To Go, amazing value on there

Nice little coffee shop with a good selection of cakes. Couldn't give it 5 stars as it has a very limited gluten free offer of one cake and no savoury options

What a wonderful little spot to relax and unwind! A little oasis with fantastic, seriously good cakes, croissant, doughnuts and all sorts. Top quality coffee, (Caravan Roasters) and plenty of seating inside and outside in the court yard. This was well worth the drive and I'm sure I'm going to be making an excuse to swing by again.

What a cracking little coffee house, having just had brunch elsewhere, I popped into Steam Yard for a coffee and cake and I certainly wasn’t let down. Delicious cortado (number two of the day) and a pecan pie (didn’t last long), treat yourself if you’re near and enjoy another great place to devour delicious handcrafted coffee and massively acceptable cakes….
