Beautiful village pub that was lovely and cosy inside with good seating outside too. The staff were incredibly friendly even offering a free drink to one of our group when they knocked theirs over. The food was delicious, and especially the scampi which was so juicy - the best I've had!
As standard I was on a workcation.
After a long day working we came into the pub and was greeted with smiles and chatty atmosphere from the staff.
The rooms were really nice, super comfortable beds (a little to comfortable if you know what I mean)
Well laid out and presented.
We also had dinner here which had a lovely simple menu and a fantastic specials board (when I say simple I mean some of the classic favourites you would expect) (when I say fantastic I mean you must not forget to take a peek you might be missing out)
Luckily for us the weather was nice so we ate outside when the food arrived it was well presented and exceptionally tasty (the pork belly was sublime and melted so easily in my mouth)
By the time the staff came over to check how the meal was going the plate was empty because that is how good it was
Ale!!! Try the otter Ale nothing more I can say on that one.
I wish I got the names of the staff to give them a shout out as they were fantastic and could tell well liked by everyone that was staying at the pub and just eating there.
Because I was working I didn’t have much time to look at things to do but the scenery in the local area is something that every country vacation needs.
400% would stay here again
Really good traditional country pub, good selection of food and drinks. Friendly staff plenty of seating inside and out.
Above all it was great to visit a pub not kowtowing to the loud progressive few, still has lots of historical artefacts on display
indicative of a real country pub.
Long may it continue.
We will be back.
Lovely pub. The food is very good. We’ve especially enjoyed Sunday lunches plus awesome locally made puddings. 😋
Went today to have lunch. Beautiful carvery, well cooked food presented well. Lovely warm welcome from the staff, nothing seemed too much trouble. Would recommend this pub for both food and drink and z great atmosphere.
Lovely pub in a lovely village.
Friendly landlord and land landlady.
Not eaten there but will do so soon
Highly recommended.
John and I spent two wonderful days at the Halfmoon Inn. Staff were very welcoming our every need was met with a smile. Both Kim and Haden were incredible hosts. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
The food was excellent the beer was really good the service was faultless, the hospitality of the landlord and landlady was second to none. Its a pity the pub isn't in Bristol where I live, I would be in there most nights.
Truly pretty village pub with a lovely vibe. Food is decent with excellent specials board, staff are very friendly.
I didn't stay here but I had dinner which was very good. There was a good selection on the specials board with a couple of fish choices. They have a good selection of wines and the service was excellent.
Nice people very clean , the food was fab but you need to book a table, service was brilliant.
I would definitely go there again
A womderful pub, in a wonderful village. Great service & fab food 😍
Great country pub. Comfortable rooms and very good service.
Portions are smaller now but the food is still 10/10. Good variety of ales, beers, ciders on tap and the staff are wonderful. Always friendly and helpful, certainly a highly recommended pub.
Very nice country pub in a small village in South Devon. Had a great meal with the family in a very traditional pub. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Popped in to see if we’d be able to have dinner there to find out they were fully booked - however they went out of their way to get us seated and served us meals half hour before they should! Made our day and really appreciated it (food was delicious!!)
Visited the restaurant twice in the same week. Amazing hearty homemade food, extremely good value for the price. The menu changes throughout the week with some home favourites and beautiful fish dishes. Desserts are amazing, especially their homemade bread and butter pudding. Staff are extremely welcoming and attentive yet giving you space. Would highly recommend.
Booking in advance is highly recommended as they are often fully booked.
Gorgeous Sunday lunch enjoyed by both me and my husband ..dog friendly which we needed ..Piping hot food tasty and the staff were friendly and welcoming..Two happy holiday makers right here.
