Dunwood Park is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Shaw, Oldham. As soon as I walked into the park, I was immediately struck by its beauty. The park is surrounded by lush greenery and the lake is stunning. The park is well-maintained and the paths are clean and well-lit.

Beautiful park with tended areas, a bowling green and wild woods. There's flat and steep walks according to your ability and a wonderful cafe. Cafe is currently closed but with a hope that someone will take it over (May 2022).

The park is so quiet and peaceful. For those who haven't been there yet, I highly recommend it. It has a short maze for kids to go through, a play area and a rock climbing area too. It has a Café and a small garden that you can look in to. I used to work there and we thought of many ideas. We wanted to open it up as a public place which I tried to do by inviting people in when I was there working, but now, it's like it's a bit forgotten... I don't know if the people who have access to it are still working on it or not, but it would be great if they are, because maybe after Covid, we could get together again and see how we can re-do it. I had some quite good ideas, and I think that if we start to work there again, we can see if we can open it up as a nice place for absolutely everyone, maybe mine the other people who working there ideas can still work out. Thank you for reading this review on Dunwood Park.

Nice park. My only bug bear with it, is there is a steep drop on one side of the path with no barrier which isn't ideal with young children. Wasn't the best place to bring my toddlers to try out their balance bikes in hindsight.. .

Nothing better than a big breakfast barm to set you up for a 3 mile hike around crompton moor

Good clean park with paths suitable for wheelchair users. Popular with dog walkers. Trees, grass, running water. What more could you want? A cafe perhaps? There is a cafe open every day serving hot food and drinks made to order. Very reasonably priced. Generally the walk is quite flat but if you're feeling energetic there is a hillier walk up through the trees. There's also a bowling green, tennis/football courts and a playground.
