The food is exceptional, prepared with the finest of ingredients by a team of passionate chefs, managed and mentored personally by owner and Head Chef Richard; these tasteful creations are complimented with a variety of fine wines. The staff are knowledgable and well rehearsed in the menu and remain ever helpful ensuring a dining experience to cherish. We could not find a negative point to note..... for completion, the ambience, hospitality and friendliness of a local village pub just added to the overall extravaganza of our visit.

We visited recently for a very rare date night - we are always cautious to try new places as the time we get is SO precious! Plus - I seem to have ridiculously high expectations so am easily disappointed by little things. I've heard lots of good things over the last few years about The Anchor so was really pleased to find out it was the destination for my surprise meal. The menu was small but extremely tempting - and how often do you hear that smaller menus mean that the food is going to be top notch?! In this case it was! Lovely fresh tasting starters (we went for prawns and whitebait), and filling, delicious main courses, (hake and the most delicious lamb chops I've had)! Unfortunately we had no room for dessert - so we'll have to go back!! Service was great, friendly, welcoming and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Rich and his team who have looked after myself, my husband and family so well. We recently needed somewhere to hold a small wedding reception at short notice and Rich went above and beyond to accommodate us, and helped make the day so special. The food was amazing with a beautiful roast dinner for over 30 people, canapΓ©s and pudding. Thank you so much, The Torys & Hoopers!

Lovely selection of good quality food in lovely calm surroundings and one of the best beef, mushroom and wine pies I have ever tasted!

Loved the place. My friends were regulars and were very friendly with the proprietor Rich and his brother. We had an English breakfast to die for. I had a smaller portion which was for me ample. Smoked bacon with tomato, mushroom πŸ„ eggs, baked beans and toast. Very well presented and excellent value at Β£9.50. My friends had a sandwich πŸ₯ͺ with what can only be described as a doorstep portion. We also had the avocado πŸ₯‘ sandwich with eggs and toasted bread 🍞 πŸ˜‹ 😍 πŸ‘Œ. The food was served very quickly as we drank down coffee and soft drinks. Excellent service and with a friendly atmosphere a winner πŸ†.

Nice village pub with tables outside and inside. Good range of drinks and snacks including some home made. Freindly staff. Menu looked good but the kitchen was closed when we arrived on a walk. Bar had some local produce for sale as well.

Amazing friendly people. We visited with 2 special needs men and they were so helpful as one of our men needed a pureed diet and they supported all his needs and the young man left very happy. Food was very good .
