The Salt Cellar - Shaftesbury - Photo album

Visited this lovely little cafe at the top of gold Hill in shaftsbury, the meal and service was fantastic. Would highly recommend it.
Views don't come much better than this. Simple but charming cafe at the top on the iconic Gold Hill. Very friendly staff and good value.
Nice atmosphere. Quick service. Jo is brilliant. Good food, big choice of pies and cakes, very tasty pecan pie. We had French onion soup and fish duo, all was good.
Hidden away like a treasure, great service, nice selection on the menu plus a Specials board and Dog friendly too
HIGHLY RECOMMEND... It is advisable to book ahead when visiting this popular eatery, and believe me it's worth the effort. We were lucky and got a table just before the lunch time rush. My husband ordered the English breakfast with scrambled eggs, and insisted it was the best
Absolutely love the salt cellar. I am very luck to be a walk away from where I work to come there. The food is absolutely fantastic! Speed of service is great. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. Only little thing I'd suggest is book before you plan to come in. It can g
Excellent food and surprisingly good value considering it's at the top of Gold Hill and an absolute dream for view from the front windows of the restaurant...
Excellent cafe/restaurant situated at the top of Gold Hill, Shaftesbury. Excellent views from the cafe.
Just had a lovely pot of tea for two and delicious coffee and walnut cake, taking on the view of the famous street. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Even better was the fact they served us a full pot of tea and didn't skimp of the tea either.
Lovely cream tea and sandwich. Coleslaw was delicious. Friendly staff and service. Great views over Gold Hill.
Popped in mid afternoon, lovely table with the gorgeous view of Gold Hill and folds of sun dappled Dorset. BUT the best bit was the amazing tomatoe and brie soup, made on the premises it was the yummiest I have ever tasted.. good price too.. love this place.
Car being serviced down the road. Wanted somewhere for breakfast that was dog friendly. Stunning gold hill views and a delicious breakfast. Didn't feel that the staff were too attentive. Ordered fried eggs, for scrambled but they still tasted nice! Would visit again......
Decent spot for lunch if the weather is good and you can get a table outside. Ciabatta's are nice. Great views of gold hill and surrounds if you choose the right seats.
Thought we'd give this place a try for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised, we were greeted when we walked in and shown to a free table, which is rare by what we saw they get very booked up. The menu was very well presented as was the food. I had a homemade steak pie which was divine, couldn't recomme
A nicely nestled place in the Shaftesbury village. It is a welcome break after taking a stroll through the incline of the village which was made famous in the Hovis commercial long back. A quick bite followed by a walk in the park leading up the erstwhile town walk is quite nice. A cute little st
In a lovely location top of Hovis hill shafetsbury. It was not that busy, but service was quite slow considering. The food was nice, but pricey. Overall, it was OK, but it needs to offer a. BIT more food variety and faster service.
A lovely little place and I would definitely recommend. I tried the grilled chicken with chorizo and mozzarella ciabatta and it was delicious. Only downfall was that the food and drinks took a little while to come out to us, but the view is amazing, the staff are great, so I would visit again.
A anniversary lunch for four exceptional service waited on by an exceptional young man nothing was too much trouble and the food was out of this world truly delicious homemade pies to suit most Very talented chef will definitely be returning.
Lovely lunch for me (Grandma) and super Crêpes for my two Granddaughters who have additional needs, therefore usually only eat trusted foods. They were made to feel welcome and comfortable and enjoyed their food immensely. Empty plates too which doesn't often happen. They loved Shaftesbury and wi
