Well, I don’t know what I was expecting but I was incredibly pleasantly surprised. Impromptu breakfast this morning to plan my day, I walked in to ask if they had an outdoor seating area but the whole downstairs of the restaurant is doggy friendly! Result!
The mocha was banging and my goodness my avo, bacon and halloumi on toast was so good I almost fell off my chair after the first mouthful.
We came for a late lunch on a weekday and it was pretty packed! Full upstairs and only one table downstairs which we managed to grab. The food was nice but really wish they did some smaller stuff like croissants and pastries.
We all loved our coffees! Even though they didn’t have ice I asked that they just make my iced latte without it and it still tasted great. Nice range of syrups too :) the staff were all lovely and very friendly which was really nice.
Only criticism is that it was a little expensive, being nearly £10pp for a sausage roll and coffee each

Travelled over to Sevenoaks, we hadn't visited since before March 2020. So very glad to see "Basil".
Great food and friendly service. I had the Basil Spring Bowl and my companion had a sausage roll and 2 salads. Delicious! Thanks guys.
Not my first time at Basil and it certainly won’t be my last. I love coffee and a Macchiato is always my first choice but having been disappointed too many times by baristas interpretation of this I often end up with the worlds smallest latte so I end up ordering
‘a single shot of espresso with a spoonful of froth please’
Brilliantly today Lucy said ‘I don’t want to be patronising but we call that a Macchiato!’
I have found my go to coffee shop in Sevenoaks.
An added bonus was the unbelievable sausage bap.
A really delicious place for brunch. Recommend the smoothies and the green yoghurt and fruit pancakes.
My partner and I love going to Basil for lunch. The food is always very fresh and tasty and the brownies are incredible!
I may have been influenced by the fact this was my first takeaway coffee this year, but they do a very, very good flat white. Interesting looking range of food, and very tempting cakes which I must come back to try when lockdown is over.
Wonderful little Cafe! We went in for breakfast and had the pancakes with blueberry and fruit compote, wholegrain toast and lots of coffee!
The staff were wonderful and incredibly helpful. It's a great place to grab a quick breakfast, a fantastic cup of coffee or a sweet treat!
My first time at Basil. The food, coffee, service and atmosphere are all great! I would definitely go back and definitely recommend it. A true gem!

Amazing service and good quality food options. Staff are always friendly and willing to help. There is a good selection of food options and cakes to try. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area. Prices are fair compared to other local options.
A good pot of tea and lovely cakes in very pleasant surroundings. Extremely friendly and helpful staff who appeared to genuinely want to please their customers. My only reservation is that the prices are very high - a pot of tea for two, a cafe latte and three pieces of cake was over £20. But that did not put us off saying we will return next time we are in Sevenoaks. (Be aware that currently they are not accepting cash, taking payment by card only).
They were out of some of the food I wanted but otherwise delicious, peaceful and good value
The staff of Basil were very accommodating, ensuring our table during a busy time. Tasty and generous portions of cake. Drinks that were hot. Cosy atmosphere. I will visit again.
