This place is definitely a one of a kind. We came here during our visit to settle, and this place alone will certainly make us come back to the town centre. Quite a unique place, haven't been anywhere quite like it. I'd say the food is similar to good home cooking. The serving/cooking is all done by one person, it wasn't too busy when we were there but can imagine you may have to wait longer at busier times. Food very tasty, fresh and a good price. Inti
The food at Matteos was excellent, it was without doubt some of the best Italian food I have every eaten. All cooked and served by Matteo, how he manages to do everything himself every night and provide such great food and friendly service is astounding. I would highly recommend
Great food in a setting full of character. Had the veggie lasagne - genuinely couldn’t tell it was veggie - tastiest one I’ve ever had.
Note that Matteo runs this place himself so if you are looking for waiters running around grinding black pepper on demand, it’s not going to happen.

First time at this place for me and my two children. Called first to make sure there was space for us as it was getting close to closing time, he politely reassured me he would be able to accommodate us.

An interesting and busy Italian restaurant located in the lower ground of the market and the shambles. The owner/chef/waiter (all in one!) is the most enthusiastic person in town. Love his passion and service of delicious pasta and risotto with great portion. Recommend trying if you are /are not in

Great communication before booking, I am gluten free and nothing was a problem, matteo could adjust the menu to suit me, when we arrived, we were welcomed with a smile, matteo was the only person working that day and there were 10 of us to look after! What an amazing
I spend a fair amount of time in restaurants and they can often be easily forgettable. Not Rosa and Matteos though. As soon as we arrived Matteo made us feel so welcome and he was happy for us to have our dog with us. The food was really very tasty made with fresh herbs and products and was burs
When we arrived we were just the only table at that time. The chef comes to service by himself and guides us to the seat. He’s the only one that works here so it made us wait a little long time for the food(just30mins). The foods were delicious and fresh but Risotto was a bit salty for me.
Booked it for me and my wife on Saturday night for my 50th birthday weekend.
The restaurant was quiet but so was the rest of Settle.
Metteo was very welcoming and the place was cosy.

Great evening spent at Matteo's when on a short trip to the Dales from London. Matteo's is an unsuspecting little restaurant, nestled right in the heart of Settle's market square.

Matteo offers a very authentic Italian cuisine, which is fantastic and so fresh! The cave like restaurant is such a delight - it is a very different dining experience with excellent food and the most passionate chef possible!

Visiting from Essex and ventured in to the area to grab some dinner. Everywhere we went turned us away except Matteo's. We only wanted to grab some food to take away. They were amazingly helpful and cooked us up some pizzas so we didn't go hungry for the evening. Would 100% love to sit down and eat
