Great traditional fish and chip shop. No frills (unless you count pies, mushy peas or battered sausages as frills). Seem to have regular staffing problems leading to slightly reduced opening hours, particularly on Saturdays, which is a pity. Check on a Saturday whether they're open.
Wow when they say homemade Yorkshire Fishcakes .. they mean fish cake .. I've had many over the years but never with so much fish in them ...fantastic 😊 Jim brown Hillam near Selby

Best chippy in the area. Fish cooked on request. Everything cooked to perfection. Staff are brilliant - humourous, engaging and very helpful. You want fish and chips - go here for quality food and value.

I very rarely have fish and chips as I am usually disappointed but got some for myself and hubby (who is even more fussy than me). Well were we impressed? absolutely fantastic, the batter was spot on, really crispy and no grease in sight, the chips were cooked to perfection. Definitely the best fish
First sausage and chips up north as I'm from down south , food was fantastic beats any chippy down south , hands down

Best fish and chips we've ever had. Chips fresh, fish and sausage perfectly battered, curry sauce second to none. And the lovely lady that served me was very polite. And the price was spot on. Abbey blows the local rival chippy out of the water! Your doing everything right. Br
Very impressed. The fish was crispy and fresh, the chips were soft and fluffy and the presentation was outstanding. Even the staff were very smily and chatty today.
