What a revelation! Hadn't eaten at the Drovers for a few years, but popped in with a friend on Friday, without a reservation, and had the best meal i have had for a very long time. The menu is varied and we both could have chosen any number of dishes on offer. Crab cakes and tiger prawns with sweet chilli jam for starters, then a sumptuous butternut squash and goats cheese risotto with baby kale and perfectly cooked fresh tuna and duck egg, followed up by white chocolate and raspberry eton mess and pistachio and olive cake (just wow!) with raspberry sorbet. Oh, and a fabulous bottle of pinot grigio too. The staff were welcoming, the service was excellent and the bill was startlingly modest. Definitely recommended.

The perfect pub :-) Great selection of beer/cider, extensive gin menu and great choice of cocktails, and exceptional home cooked food. Very welcoming staff, and best of all they're happy to allow my crazy border collies :-)

We have been a few times now and have really enjoyed our meals. Lovely selection especially for my vegetarian husband. Today we had burgers, both excellent and the chips are the real deal. Friendly, helpful and happy staff. Highly recommend

Just had another beautiful meal here didn't even know they were open for lunch so a lovely surprise to find them open but with their usual warm welcome & a lunch time special menu at 2 meals for an unbelievable £12 we've left full to brimming & big smiles recommend to everyone !

Called in here on Saturday after spending the morning in the area and looking for somewhere to eat. We were not disappointed from the moment we walked through the door, despite not booking a table we were seated immediately in a nice cosy corner of the restaurant. The service was impeccable throughout our visit the staff were always attentive and not in a pushy way. When the food arrived it was beyond expectations the care and effort that had gone into the preparation, cooking and presentation or the food was second to none and the taste was out of this world. We will definitely be back again soon and would definitely recommend.

Me and my partner have travelled from Durham as we were staying at Yellowtop. We were looking for a lovely little location for a perfect date night and Drovers, you did not disappoint! The food was amazing and the service was even better (you don’t get that in the north east)! Josie was especially amazing and made our visit very special. The atmosphere was beautiful with the dim lights, the fire and the music. Perfect location and even better service + food! Will be back again :) Thank you!

It was a last minute booking after the disappointing news that the hotel we were staying at nearby could not accommodate us in their restaurant. I went by others ‘ reviews and the Drovers Arms did not disappoint. The service was friendly, efficient and professional and the food delicious. We were celebrating a surprise engagement and it made the event memorable.

Arrived with our friends on a carriage driving day in the grounds of Escrick Estate, Skipwith nature reserve and surrounding farm land. Grand day out and a planned visit to the Drovers was topped off by very helpful staff, particularly in the kitchen where our food choices arrived in boxes rather than plates and some carrots for our ponies. We also learned that the Drovers had been the place of our friends first date 🥰🥰 who knew!!!

Loved the new decor and refurbishment - a winning combination of cosy country pub meets chic contemporary style. Excellent Yorkshire menu and really delicious food. The sweet potato, aubergine and coconut curry was superb. Everything was perfect for a relaxed family meal. Thank you to the waiting staff who were really welcoming and gave friendly, professional service.

What a wonderful establishment. We ate here in October while visiting the area and had steaks. It's one of the best gastro pubs we've eaten at in the UK. Knowing we'd be back for Easter, this was the first restaurant we booked, before deciding where for other nights. The recent refurbishment is a huge success, making things a little more modern but not too much. This time we had the Sunday roast with all the trimmings - absolutely delicious - what a real English roast meal should be and so rarely is. We ordered all the sides too. Bring your eating shoes - we couldn't manage a starter or dessert. Finally they have an excellent range of beers, a great wine list and for the designated driver a range of alcohol free drinks including beers and g&t. The Drovers Arms was recommended to us by Harmony House where we were staying.

Lovely country pub with an extensive menu. Staff were happy and very attentive and looked smart in uniform waistcoats. One small down point was we booked a dog friendly table, and it was right next to the main dining area ( carpeted) . A lady who obviously and quite loudly commented that she did not like dogs. We then had to change where the dog was sitting to avoid any further upset. I look forward to returning on my next visit to family in York.

Great find for a late Sunday lunch. Lovely beef roast with trimmings. Arrived at 5.30pm and they managed to find me a table. Last food orders is 6pm, but it was very busy so I would book if there is more than a couple of you. Lovely atmosphere and very attentive service. Had a couple of real ales on the hand pumps and I had a lovely pint of pale ale I can't remember the name of.

Lovely busy pub. Very good cosy atmosphere, plenty of bears, ales, ciders, spirits to choose from. For food, we only had a starter to share, which was served quickly and with a smile. Prices are on the upper side of reasonable, so expect to pay around £25 for starter and main.

Hubby and I like to do a date night once a month and finally booked the Drovers Arms and was not disappointed. Firstly the staff were brilliant helpful polite perfect service. I’m a fussy eater and just like chicken and I asked for a chicken alternative to the steak meal and they did and it was gorgeous. Hubby said his burger was really tasty. Price of meal spot on. Refurb looks lovely. Def will be back and we definitely would recommend this pub for a meal. Thank you for a lovely evening meal out.

What a superb place to eat! Eat either inside, outside in a private hut, or in the Tipi! However, the star of the show is the food. I'd read reviews, it had been recommended, but nothing prepared me for just how good the food was! I had the baked mushrooms with crab, and then the seabass and was blown away by both of them. Outstanding. I'm sure we will be back, as we are planning on returning to where we are staying locally at some point!

Great food and drinks. Only issues we had was the table we was given had servers constantly walking past which made me slightly uncomfortable as the stones on the ground kept getting accidentally kicked into my legs . The table was booked for 6 but we wasn't seated till 6:24pm however the food was fast and fresh and fairly priced. Massively recommend the chicken and ham pie!

A family lunch which did not disappoint! The starters were lush, especially the vegan sharing platter which was really simple but well done - the hummus was the best I've had in ages. Our mains were very good, especially the vegan butternut squash flat bread. My partner thought the gammon was a bit overcooked but as it came with egg and pineapple, he really liked it. This chips were to die for - fat and piping hot! The chicken flat bread and lamb were excellent too. We were so fulll, we couldn't manage a sweet, but there looked to be great choices there. The service was excellent and as the bar is dog friendly and has its own log fire, we were in heaven!
