Had a truly wonderful meal on the early bird menu straight from work. Staff were very polite, knowledgeable and attentive. The food came quickly, was piping hot and well presented. We were serenaded by a singing waiter and received a complimentary limoncello to finish off the meal. What made it even better was I have coeliac disease and require a gluten free meal. No problem. The waiters could tell me exactly what I could have and it was beautiful. I'll definitely visit again.
We were recommended Sapori by a friend and didn't really know what to expect other than great food. We were warmly welcomed by the owner with kisses, hugs and hand shakes and shown to a table. Initially we weren't sure about the waiter he was a little stand off ish to begin with but he soon came around and provided an excellent service. The food was sensational I've not enjoyed a meal as much in a very long time! The wine was delicious too and not over priced. The opera singer was a little surprising but a nice surprise albeit a loud one. It's not somewhere I'd recommend for a romantic meal if you want to chat quietly with your partner. It's very busy and very loud but this just adds to the atmosphere. I'd sacrifice romance to eat that food any time. My husband and I had a fabulous night. We will definitely go back. We both had a starter, main and pudding which included steak and 2 bottles of wine the whole bill came to only £89 what a bargain!!!
LOVE this place, was recommended to us by friends, always visit when home now. It is small with upstairs and downstairs so if you can't manage stairs, I would suggest booking ahead of time and requesting downstairs seating. I'd recommend booking anyway, it is always busy. The staff are incredible, hard working but always with a smile and very attentive. Food is awesome! Piping hot, all orders correct and so tasty! Great little spot, you probably would never find it, if you weren't looking for it. Highly recommend.

Received a very warm welcome, lovely ambience and atmosphere, amazingly tasty food, reasonably priced, complimentary limoncello shot with the bill and smiles & genuine thanks upon leaving.

We went for my 50th birthday we were all treated like queens from start to finish the food was amazing and well presented and hot we weren't rushed at all was a fab night the waiter and waitresses were fab and couldn't do enough for us we will definitely be returning before the end of the year

Honestly the most authentic Italian restaurant you’ll find in this country. Food is incredible. I’ll be thinking about how succulent the ribs were till my next visit. The specials menu lobster was an absolute delight. Sea food is so fresh and you can tell each dish is freshly made for order. The staff are completely on it. Worth every penny. We will be back!
Sapori is the most incredible Italian I have ever been to IN MY LIFE! The food is simply incredible. Authentic Italian cuisine cooked to perfection. The staff are so friendly, kind and helpful. We travelled from Newcastle to visit a friend in Selby and this restaurant came highly recommended. We were advised to book a few days in advance, and we can see why.
The place was incredibly busy, yet the staff remained professional and were great hosts.
We initially sat at a table near the stairs on the first floor. However, when a window table became available, the staff kindly asked if we would like to move to somewhere a little more special (the champagne may have been a giveaway that we were celebrating).
We had butterfly prawns for starters along with a mozzarella dish, supported by a garlic bread. All of which were superb. For main course we had a fillet Rossini and cannelloni. Again, both were utterly superb.
All in all, a great night with great food. We shall definitely return when we come back to Selby.
Special mention to the young waiter, who went that extra mile to make the experience what it was. For someone so young, his confident, yet friendly and professional approach were a credit to him.
Went here for an early dinner before a concert. Pleased we did- it was excellent. We both had pasta. One carbonara one bolognese. Lovely flavours with quality ingredients.
Great atmosphere (we were downstairs). Service was very quick and professional. Open kitchen, which I do like to see! And the owner was front of house, very hands on when needed which I also like. Prices - good value.

From start to finish we felt really well looked after,
Turned up with no reservation and was allowed a table, never once felt rushed.. really enjoyed the excuse my ignorance “meatballs” 5/5, I followed my meatballs with the calzone again 5/5 however I will say read the menu as I failed to do so and expected spiced meats in the calzone.. (actually comes stuffed with chicken, mozzarella and spinach, my fault)..
The reduction of one star solely comes down to the side of rosemary potatoes I received being bland.. texture was dry and tasted more of the potato skin than rosemary. (Maybe a bad batch on a busy night)
Desert (lemon and vanilla cheesecake saved the day and left me content..
My wife’s starter main and desert were all on point and the price was very reasonable…
2 x 3 course meals +1 side with two rounds of drinks £58!! Spent more than that in far worse restaurants…
We've eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed with either the food or service. Portions are large enough for even the hungriest appetite and the staff are very attentive.

Very attentive staff who at the same time were not overbearing. Food was of a very good quality as well with everyone extremely happy with their orders.
My steak was actually beautiful and could have done with more. That being said I'd rather leave a restaurant wanting to return than never wanting to bother with it again.
Only reservation is that the glass of coke was used in a wine glass with ice in order to make sure there was not much. Other than that was lovely.
What can I say? I’ve been Using this restaurant for many years, and I can honestly say that I’ve never had a bad Meal.

I ate here with a friend last week for the first time due to having read the reviews. We were not disappointed. The service was welcoming and friendly the food was delicious and the atmosphere was just right. The entire restaurant was packed but we were served efficiently yet not rushed. The food was excellent with generous portions and we could not fault a single thing. To achieve service, standard and amazing food is not always easy to find but this unassuming place has it all.
Keep up the great work. We will definitely return.
