Absolutely loved it. Proper farmers portion grub in an old worthy inn in middle of nowhere. Land ladys couldnt have welcomed us any better than what they did. The breakfast was HUGE even though i ordered a small breakfast so i can imagine how full plate would have been with a normal breakfast. You really got ur moneys worth. Loved the fact dogs were allowed in at all times. Deffo be going back. Thanks to all staff for such a lovely welcoming and proper grub (none of that fancy la de da stuff)
Really great pub. Great food - yes, especially the steak pie - very very friendly owners and staff, great welcome for our two dogs, and cosy by the stove. A highlight of our weekend away.
the meal was great and the staff were very welcoming, loved the place

Great village pub with excellent staff and good food.
Beautiful location & very welcoming friendly staff. My daughter & I are very fussy eaters! They happily served what we requested and the food was excellent. A lovely warm & comfy Inn, thanks to all we had a wonderful time.
Moorcock a first class Inn with excellent accommodation & food delicious! Scenic position on the Dales a photographers or walkers paradise ! Close to Hawes for shopping too. Staff are professional & very friendly - I'd stay there again !

Great lunchtime food as well as a grand pint of Black Sheep.

Just perfect. Warm comfy rooms, amazing friendly staff, beautiful food and can't fault a thing x
Best food around. Care has been taken to source and cook it, and you don't see that much these days. Will be visiting again.
In September this year I hurt myself whilst walking on the hills and falling over in very wet weather.
Due to my injury my husband and I, with our dog, missed our train and so we decided to pop into the Moorcock Tearoom.
We had such a warm welcome from the two wonderful women running the cafe and enjoyed an hour of chat and laughter with a glass of wine and sweet potato chips.
Thank you so much to you both at the Moorcock Tearoom, you cheered us up with your laughter and warm hospitality.
Nice pub. We got there just as they opened and it was quite cold but it warmed up as more people came in. The menu is limited but the food was very good and the portions were more than adequate. Soft drinks only seemed available in cans and again was a bit limited but the bar looked fully stocked in spirits and there was locally brewed ale on tap. The staff were friendly and professional and the service was prompt. Booking would be advisable as it filled up quickly while we were there. Suitable for families, couples, friends and gatherings. Well done team Moorcock, will definitely go back.
Had a wonderful stay, the staff were lovely and friendly, the room was beautiful and clean. Food was amazing, especially the Bakewell Tart truly a masterpiece, especially with ice cream!. The steak pie was gorgeous, everything was good. Portions were enormous!! Would definitely recommend, combined with the wonderful scenery and great walking, don't forget the Settle and Carlisle railway, a must.
What more could you want!
Great pub and hotel. Rooms were spotless and super comfy. Decent bar with a good selection of real ales from local brewery. Menu was limited but good quality and big portions. Breakfast was superb. Parking was available for our motorbikes . Staff are fabulous, friendly and helpful. Definitely will be stopping again.
Called in for a beef stew lunch for two, the service price and quality were all A+ The atmosphere and surroundings are very traditional welcoming and homely. Would highly recommend a visit on your way to Hawes.
Pleasant, welcoming pub, with well kept real ale.
Love this place. No bells and whistles but clean comfortable rooms, simple food cooked well and friendly, helpful staff. Beautifully situated for dog walking which is always an important consideration for me. Will certainly be back!
A very comfy and welcome pub after a walk around Garsdale
Nice beer and a good few vegan choices too
Stopped for a spot of lunch whilst riding through the Dales after navigating the heavily populated Hawes. Great view, nice and quiet, friendly staff and looked to have nice beers on. Just could have done with a sandwich or something for a lunch option is all rather than a whole pub meal or bar snacks.
A great place to stay eat and drink , a very rural location in a beautiful part of the UK.
A fantastic place for a beer, a meal or to stay the night. I arrived dripping wet and cold off the fells. Lovely warm welcome and toasty warm room. Stayed in a small but comfortable single room. Delicious food, homemade fishcakes. Fabulous setting in the Yorkshire Dales. Great walking all around. Highly recommended!
Just spent lovely 3 days here staying in the annex at the back
absolutely perfect for me and the wife and our Dog
everything you could possibly need in there
very clean and well presented
just short 30min or so drive to all fabulous sites to go site seeing
plenty of local walks on the Doorstep with fabulous views
we will return here without question for another short break next year
Food and drink excellent! Staff enormously friendly. Kept apologizing for lack of staff but honestly it was no problem. Very welcoming!
Very friendly and welcoming locally run pub with comfortable areas to sit and relax and a dining area where (on Sundays at least) they served a pretty good traditional roast dinner. absolutely ideal for weary hikers or breaking up a long car journey through the Dales. A gem you shouldn't miss if you're in the area! they've also got a well stocked bar and tea room so there's something here for everyone.
I've been coming here for thirty years or more after hiking up the nearby moors. Lovely cosy little pub with great outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Great chips and ice cream too!
Lovely quiet pub, ideal for a stop on a walk around Garsdale. We had a cappucino, homemade bakewell tart and a delicious lake land ice cream.
Cracking pub on the moors. Good selection of beers and the food was excellent. Dosnt have a wide range of meals but what they do have is top notch. If they have game pie on when you go, have it. On the ball with cleaning and staff are very friendly and chatty.
