Staff were lovely and welcoming to fit us in. Beer great and food nice but ludicrously overpriced. £29 for shepherds pie but that doesn’t include any veg- that’s just tight- £4 for single portion. If you order a steak you’ll get stung £4 each extra for a sauce and veg. The Ryanair of the pub trade,
Stayed here during our Dales Way walking trip and we have loved the stay there. Beautiful room, huge and comfy bed, it has been a perfect stay!
Booked for a group of 9 people for lunch, had a lovely table in a separate room. Service and food were lovely. V friendly welcoming and efficient staff.
Had an amazing meal here on our last night of our holiday - great quality food, beautiful setting, and exceptional service. Couldn’t recommend enough 🥰
One of the best pub meals I’ve had for a very long time. Small menu but the ingredients were high quality and the chef did wonders with them. Would highly recommend the scallops, both the pork loin and the beef cheek were superb. Service was fantastic, and I would go back just to be able to try mor
Very cosy, beautifully decorated pub. Menu is simple and the chef clearly knows what he’s doing as everything we ate was delicious. Good value for money. Will definitely be back.
Food was delicious with great service. Prices are reflective of the quality of the local produce and great cooking.

We had a great experience here. The food was high quality, rustic and very well put together. The service is relaxed but attentive. The atmosphere is calm, reserved but warm with many locals (which is always a good sign!). We had a superb meal here and can say with confidence that this is the best p
Room was amazing, staff fantastic and the food was lovely. Would absolutely come again.
Had a lovely dinner in this cosy pub. Kind service too! Thanks!
Great food and quality beer. Friendly and attentive staff. Comfortable room and also well furnished bar/restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating if the weather

We ate here on Tuesday. What an amazing find. The food was delicious. My husband who is a chef had the steak - a sirloin - which he said was the best steak he’d had in ages. I had the confit duck which was soooo good. Cheese soufflé and scallops were our starters. Also amazing! Service was fantastic
We had a few days in Sedbergh . This pub was lovely. Great food too
Would've been five stars, but there is no on-site parking (in spite of what Google Maps says) and no lift. The building is over 500 years old, so the lack of a lift is understandable, but there are also no rooms on the ground floor, so if you are injured just before your trip, like I was, you're out
