Very welcoming and quaint with lots of gorgeous artwork featuring hares (of course). I loved it. Had some beautiful cauliflower cheese soup and sat and chilled in the relaxed, friendly atmosphere for a while sipping my tea without any need or feeling that I had to rush. If you're in Sedbergh, it's definitely worth a visit for their home made fare. The array of homemade cakes looked stunning but I'm gluten intolerant so couldn't partake. The cafe was recommended by the propriermter of a large bookshop around the corner and it was well worth the walk. Thank you.

Just got in from having a family meal for 4, and I would honestly say the only downside to the whole evening is that we didn’t have another two dining with us so we couldn’t try every item on the menu! Every dish served was absolutely divine, and as a generally quite fussy eater, I tried several things I normally wouldn’t try or wouldn’t like, and there was nothing I didn’t enjoy! The staff were fantastic, and it was lovely to be able to see the owners after they’d just slaved in the kitchen making our 4 servings of 3 course meals. Truly wonderful experience, and well worth pushing any boundaries you might have on flavours going together as they clearly know exactly what they’re doing!

On our way to and back from the Lakes for our annual pilgrimage week Three Hares kindly prepared vegetarian quiches for us to collect. Never-ever have we all tasted such truly delicious quiches (and at a bargain price). The loaves and scones we bought were gorgeous too. Celia, Ray & Thomas.

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food - whole menu looked so tasty it took a while to decide! Staff were cheerful even though very busy - we will be back! Thanks to our friends in Sedbergh who had booked a week ahead, and the Three Hares for a superb evening :-)

Called in here for some takeaway food after helping our daughter to move house. It was quite late on a Saturday lunch time and whilst the selection was limited wow, the quality was great. Sandwiches jam packed with ham, a wonderful meat pie which was more the size of a meat pudding and the sausage rolls were to die for. A little on the expensive side but would definitely go back as I felt the food was worth what we paid.

Superb service. Children and dogs more than welcome. Staff can’t do enough to help. We wanted some beans for our daughter and they nipped out and got some from the local shop! Even better, they had an excellent range of local beers on tap and in the fridge!

Mainly a take-away, but a few tables inside for the take-away items, so quite a limited menu, However, it was a lovely spot to chill out for a couple of hours. Good coffee, and the pre-prepared rolls were absolutely delicious. Apparently the bread/pre-prepared rolls are all made at the partner business, The Black Bull, over the road. It was so nice I bought a loaf to take home!

This is a really excellent café. The coffee is great (at least, my espresso was) and they have a wonderful selection of homemade cakes and biscuits as well as deli stuff. I would thoroughly recommend the jam doughnuts - possibly the best you're likely to find anywhere: big, round monsters of properly deep fried dough with a decent amount of jam. If you're cycling or walking you'll not regret stopping here.

Great little local cafe, deli. Rather busy when we went which was good to see. Couple of local people in front of us so we thought it would be good. The local sausage roll was exceptional none of the fast food low meat content stuff sold here.

Stopped here for breakfast and had a sausage sarnie. Staff were welcoming, service was quick, the bread was fresh and tasty and the sausage suitably seasoned for my palette. With a cup of Americano coffee it went down a treat. Suitably impressed we went back for cups of tea (English and Earl Grey) and each of us enjoyed them because they use leaf tea in pots.

A wonderful cafe; we had salad if the day with mackerel- lovely, and they happily added horseradish as it was there for the sandwiches. Decaff coffee is excellent and check out the cakes! Quirky little building with lots of hare pictures in town full of book shops.

Had a cheese roll and ham roll, home made scone, home made baked cheesecake and pot of tea for 2. Just over £19. Was worth every penny. The cheese I think is probably from Hawes? Tasted too good to supermarket cheese. Ham was proper home cooked ham. Rolls home made. Cafe is quaint and had an old fashioned feel to it. Plenty of choice in teas and coffee. Staff are very friendly. An asset to the village. I'd visit again and again

A wonderful, friendly girl served us and was simply a delight to chat to. We enjoyed their superb baking and came away with pork pies and sausage rolls. Bear in mind we only popped in for a cup of tea lol. Can't wait to go back. Thank you again for your hospitality x. Jo and Alex x

This was a fantastic gem of a place discovered whilst on holiday in the area. Initially passing through the village and had some coffee and cakes to take away which were absolutely gorgeous. So went back the next day to have a proper look around Sedburgh and have a meal and was fantastic, The menu changes depending on seasonal supply, the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. The food itself was incredible and the coffee was one of the best i've had :). all in all can't recommend this place highly enough.
