We’ve eaten here a couple of times and sat and enjoyed drinks many more. Just love the location and views whatever time of year. Definitely on our ‘go to’ place to visit when on the island. Staff friendly, menu and food great, especially if you’re a fish foodie. We had the plaice which was pan fried
Had a great meal before catching the ferry home after a fab week on the IOW. The perfect ending. The staff were so friendly, the service super quick, the food simply delicious and the view was stunning. Highly recommended!
Absolutely brilliant place. Brought 8 of my family here last month and everybody had such a nice time, quick service, amazing sea views and incredible food. The mussels and crab are particularly good!
Booked for Sunday lunch. Great relaxed atmosphere (despite it being very busy!) and friendly, attentive service. Really recommend the roast Sirloin of Beef, it was cooked beautifully and all the veggies super flavourful. Will definitely be back, thank you!
Excellent location, Good Customer service, Great options for drinks. Good food.
As good as ever and as busy as ever, but very accommodating when we just popped in. Nice staff, great food and beer, what's not to like 😊 oh and very dog friendly 👍
Perfectly situated with fantastic views across the Solent. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the view. Ordered food and drinks by the side window. Fish and chips were great and the kids enjoyed the children's menu. Great location for a drink and chill or for food.
Great food, happy atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff - we went there several times and it was consistently good. Highly recommended. *****
This replaces an earlier review from 2021, when things were still a bit cloudy after COVID.
The Old Fort is a favourite of ours when we visit the Island, especially for seafood. Last Thursday was not a disappointment. I had delicious crab ramekin, a bit of heat, paprika? Tarragon. Then a very gener
Booked for a late lunch on Sunday. Great location. Friendly efficient service. Good selection of ales. I really enjoyed my special of rolled brisket with potato terrine, onion puree and mushroom stuffed onion-please tell the chef that's a keeper!
Excellent food, lovely people, beautiful place and view.
Absolutely love this little place. We arrived at 5pm on a November evening. We went for a little walk along the beach in the cold and rain then arrived at The Old Fort, a small, warm, cosy pub with a real lovely atmosphere. We were told that food didn't start until 5.30pm, so as we were seated at a
Best Sunday lunch I’ve had anywhere on the island (& I’ve tried very many). Two thick slices of sirloin, parsnip crisps, divine roast potatoes & gravy. Just yum!
Fabulous views also.
Great food, great view, great service. 5*s all round.
A nice restaurant with close proximity to the seaside, good seafood and a busy atmosphere. The vegetarians and gluten-free were satisfied. Remember to book in advance.
Really delicious food, gorgeous restaurant and the pub had a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend
