Outstanding!! This country pub is fantastic! With it’s up to date modern look but still keeping the old school British pub/restaurant feel. Well run by the owner, he is very friendly & helpful as well as all staff. The locals are friendly & a good laugh, food is amazing!! Highly recommend the mixed grill with its locally sourced meat and homemade sauce, good harty full English breakfast to start the day. The rooms are brilliant! very clean & cosy, with fresh soft towels everyday. They have there own theme with attention to detail, I stayed in the pheasant room which had some cool pheasant props, nice big comfy duble bed. Lovely big pub garden & decent car park. I cannot recommend staying here enough if ur around the area!! 😃😃🤙🏻🤙🏻 10/10 👌🏻👌🏻
I recently had the pleasure of a night away in this beautiful pub. My room was stunning and the decor is lovely and fresh and clean. Ralph couldn’t do enough for us, my partner had arranged my surprise engagement in the next village and was sadly let down last minute, Ralph (the owner) organised something so beautiful and so quickly.. it was stunning and I couldn’t of wished for anything better to happen. The food is Devine and the chef is incredible (its a must try) and the service was second to none. I cannot recommend this place enough and we will be back every year to relive our wonderful day! Thank you Ralph and Sam for our fantastic weekend! X
I dont mind declaring that I know the young man who runs this pub, and I went last night hoping it would be good. In fact it totally exceeded my expectations. They have obviously invested in the building. A beautiful old stone pub now has a wonderful fresh interior. Modern touches but totally in character.
So first impressions, very good - and the George and Dragon Ale proved fresh and rather "moorish". But the real treat was yet to come.
Dinner was simply superb. I went for baked Camembert followed by Cote De Boeuf - and our table of six shared two desserts ( Creme Brûlée and an insanely delightful date dish with ice cream that I did not get the name of )
Beer seemed to keep arriving as well as rather lovely red wine decanted and served by very attentive young staff.
With a tip we payed for two what I am constantly having to pay per head at top London restaurants - and quite honestly the food and every aspect of this experience were as good as I would expect in London.
When the chef came to the tale and shared he has worked at Nobu and The Ivy, I was not surprised.
If the team that served us so well last night read this ....... Thank You
You have created something very special
The service was fabulous and the food was even better. The best pub we have in the area by along way. I highly recommend the creme brûlée.
This little pub is absolutely amazing such a stunning place! The food is to die for even for a super fussy eater like me! So accommodating the rooms are stunning and all individual too! Ralph and his team are amazing they really couldn’t do more for us! Our hot air balloon ride for a proposal was cancelled last minute however Ralph with half an hours notice set up something stunning and unforgettable for our friend to pop the question! Definitely a place to visit and stay, was a shame to come home. Thanks guys love to you all xxx
It’s not often we eat out at Sunday lunch; nothing ever stands up to a home-cooked roast unless you want take out a mortgage to pay for the tiniest of tiny modern deconstruction of your family favourite!
But oh my, what a find. What a real delight to come to the newly refurbished, attractive, friendly and comfortable George & Dragon.
I had a delightful Beetroot & fennel cured salmon with a subtle, not overpowering mustard and dill sauce. Actually, the salmon is cured in Sambuca but Ralph was concerned no one would choose it - he’s wrong on that: I would! The others all liked their starters. I can’t remember what they had - I wasn’t bothered as I was not sharing mine!
Everyone except me choose the roast sirloin of beef. It looked wonderful; beautifully pink and the roast potatoes (done in duck fat) looked perfect. But I chose the best - the most fantastic, tender, wonderfully seasoned roast loin of hare (shot I’m told in the field behind the pub, so minimal food miles here!) with a shiny, rich sloe gin jus .... and I got the roast potatoes (and other vegetables) too.
My only regret is that I couldn’t try the wine as I had to rush off and take my daughter to her play rehearsal. But I am most certainly coming back.
It is great to find a new but traditional restaurant and pub, run by a young, enthusiastic and professional landlord with a superb chef and friendly staff. The local of Seaton are very lucky but, sorry guys, you are going to have to share!
Absolutely fantastic. Which is high praise considering even though the landlord is my brother I was still only allowed a bloody table due to a cancellation! Beautifully cooked beef, great wine and best brownie we’ve ever eaten. Cheers guys see you next time
Delicious food and great service and attention to detail. Will definitely recommend and return.
Gloucester old spot pork, amazing roasties... the best Sunday lunch I have every had. Enough said.
We popped in for a quick drink and ended up staying for an amazing Sunday lunch! Thank you to the really lovely and friendly staff for squeezing us in! Highly recommended
Lovely pub will go there for food soon. garden looks like it will be finishedsoon just in time for summer. Friendly staff and locals.
under new management, fully refurbished beautiful village pub/restaurant. Well worth the travel to visit. Great atmosphere and a warm welcome awaits you.
Fabulous new look for the G&D! Proud to have our local back with the friendly staff and impressive decor! But very glad the character of the building has been retained and revived! Good luck Ralph and co. Good work!
the pork was something else...and affagato to die for!
Great two night stay at the George & Dragon! Warmly greeted on arrival, we stayed in the pheasant room which was a very well presented, clean and good sized room. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent and having a few drinks in front of the log burner was very nice! All staff were very friendly and helpful. Our stay couldn't have been any better.
We have visited here today and had the most spectacular roast! The service was incredible, the staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. The landlord, Ralph, made a special visit to our table to make sure everything was hunky dory and we ended up chatting for ages! We shall definitely be making another trip here… only next time, we’ll be booking a room to stay over night so we can drink some more of the delicious beer and wine! Thanks all!
Lovely little pub. Only had drinks but staff welcoming and helpful. Not many seats inside, but cosy lounge area. We sat outside under the heaters. Nice clean outside area.
We had a great 2 night stay in the Hare Room. Very comfortable and clean. The full English breakfast was superb. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere in the bar in the evening and the Burger night was brilliant. Hope to go back in June.

4 of us stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. Lovely rooms. Great staff. Great breakfast.
Outstanding food and service for our large group! We had a Sunday lunch menu which was an excellent selection. The beef was perfect, superb Yorkshires and a gorgeous selection of expertly cooked vegetables. All dishes were sampled and enjoyed by all: piping hot and well presented. Service was accommodating, efficient and smiley. The room itself was bright and welcoming. Fantastic ! Thanks everyone

Fantastic 💎 gem of a pub/Inn really good service and excellent food with a changing menu. We stayed for one night in the pheasant room. It was very clean and really good value with the lovely breakfast. Word of ⚠️caution!! The buffalo wings on the menu made a vindaloo appear tame!
Nice cheap room for the night. Tidy, clean and well presented. Staff very friendly.
Book in wasn't till 4 but we turned up at 12 desperately looking to use the room to get changed for a wedding, the room was being cleaned but allowed us in as soon as they have finished. Great service.
Stayed for one night. Probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had
Love love love coming here. Their food is excellent and I always leave happy. We frequent this place enough that we also invite friends and family to come along. My personal favorite is the mushroom risotto, but I have tried many other items from the menu and am never disappointed.
Only went for a drink so can't comment on food. Friendly little pub. Nice beer. Not loads of seats in bar. 40 maybe?
Fab food. Staff brilliant. Lovely atmosphere
My Sister and I had a first class lunch. It is imperative to book in advance. They don't mind if you go out for just lunch, or have been walking first.
The staff are very good, the Chef is brilliant.
I would certainly go again.
We stayed for 3 nights with friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food in the restaurant was fabulous and the service there and in bar was excellent. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Just what you need for a long weekend. Thank you to all who made us feel so welcome.
Very good food fast service recommend the fish and chips large portion and the fish was fresh
Spent a lovely night at The George and Dragon on 12th June. Cannot fault the staff and the service. From the moment we arrived we were looked after extremely well. We were a group of four so booked two rooms The Hare Room and the Pheasant Room both of which were clean, comfortable and decorated to a very high standard. The attention to detail was impressive. Dinner, starters and main courses were delicious and again the service was brilliant. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy a lovely meal this is the perfect place. Thank you George & Dragon
