Gorgeous old pub and well located by the coast, lots parking. Came for lunch. Great service, very friendly. Busy pub which is great to see. Good options to have small or large choice for some meals. Good value. Had 3 delicious meals, mince dumplings, steak pie and small fish n chips. Only disappointed - as much as the chips are great I wish they were served straight from cooker as they were not hot and slightly soggy under the fish. Overall, a lovely pub.

Amazing food! Great service. Brilliant pub. The starter, Asian style pork belly with chilli and scallions was amazing. I drank the sauce like a broth, the best starter I've ever had. It was outstanding and was tempted to order it again for a main course. Prawn cocktail was tip top and it was nice to see someone make an effort and take some care with it as it totally paid off. Pie of the day was Steak, onion and mushroom in an ale gravy. I'm not a fan of a puff pastry lid but it did the job and the amount of pastry was brilliant. The pie was delicious and full to the brim. The beef Baguette was star of the mains. Best roast beef I've ever eaten and the baguette was perfect. Gravy is sensational. Thick and full of flavour. The chips were perfect. When I think of pub chips, that's it. Dark, crispy edges and soft and fluffy in the middle. Kids chicken bites with chips were a good size for a kids meal. Fresh and tasty. Onion rings were lush, crispy batter and a good portion. Best pub meal I've had for a long time. The staff were brilliant!

Nice County style pub tucked out the way next to sea front, this place reminds me of how pubs used to be, didn't eat however seems that is what most people in the pub did. Beer was decent however a tad expensive at over a fiver a pint staff where friendly enough. Would I use again? Yes good amount of outside seating for a cold pint on a hot summer day walking the beaches.

Packed out pub on a Sunday afternoon. Only seating was in smoking area outside or facing onto the road not ideal with children or for eating however we made the choice to stay. Food service was painfully slow with items no longer available. This would have been acceptable if ok when they did arrive. I ordered leak pie which came with a burnt pastry top and a very salty filling. Getting served inside you could tell the staff were under pressure and run off their feet. There was probably more demand than they expected but there must be some of way of flexing the number of dining only tables to not get so overwhelmed. I was also surprised that they didn't make more of the harbour views. The back smoking area was a six foot high fence which seemed a strange choice for its location. I don't think we would eat here again given a choice.

Wow this is an ancient pub with food to bowl you over with joy. Just the bread is special nevermind the pea and mint soup! The whole place vibrates Tesla like with warmth from the REAL Fire and kindly helpful hardworking staff. Check out the artists work upon the wall; he's a local lad well respected for his brilliant art housed in a garage come workshop round the back of the pub. He allows you to browse his art collection totally free he's a real artist a true artist not in galleries but down Seaton sluice one of the best harbours I've ever seen ...but miss the old bridge and kilns from the old days, the days of a local Giant...now that's atmospheric for you .. Wow

Only called in for a lunchtime drink. Lovely building. Great staff. Very busy with diners. The beer a bit too cold for my liking.

Very very welcoming pub with an emphasis on food but great beers etc too. Traditional atmosphere. Log fire. Right next to the harbour. Popular with locals and visitors alike. Wonderful dog friendly seating area overlooking the bay.

Great pub! Most of the food was outstanding 4 stars seems a bit harsh but there were a few minor points that would make these dishes 5 star in my eyes. The Sunday dinner (beef) was the best meet, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and gravy that I can remember. Really first class. The only criticism is the vegetable sides. They were just plain boiled (nothing special). Would have preferred something like charred spouts, Honey glazed parsnips, roasted carrots, anything with a bit of the chefs love. For pudding I went for the apple crumble. Once again really top notch! However it was served with what tasted like a watered down version of the instant custard that you can buy at the shops? With a little bit of embellishment, this pub could be really world class! Will 100% be coming again!
