We went for a quick bite between visiting times at Wansbeck Hospital- which also happened to be the day of Harry and Megan’s wedding & the FA Cup Final!!! Ordered Steak & Ale Pie with a Jacket Potato & veg; Garlic Chicken Panini with Peppers & Mushrooms, Chips and Salad; Pepperoni and Mozzarella Panini with Chips and Salad plus a round of three soft drinks. The food was superb when it came and the portions were bigger than expected, for the price paid. The meat was very tender and easily chewed, and the Steak and Ale Pie came with carrots and peas. The paninis were very substantial and came with a generous portion of chips & salad. All in all a very good meal, which we didn’t have to wait long for, despite the place being very busy. We will be back, soon.

Been up this evening for a late tea. Had the sharing platter between 4 then the Sunday roast. Absolutely beautiful. Great value for money too. Couldn’t fault anything on the plate. Sat outside with the dog. Very welcoming. Highly recommend. Worth the visit. Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you to the staff and the locals.. much appreciated.

A group of us attended for the Royal Wedding afternoon tea. An amazing afternoon!! The food was great (especially the nachos I ate afterwards whilst sitting in the sun in the beer garden). They catered for my gluten intolerance which is a massive thumbs up. The staff are great and it’s now a firm favourite.

We live locally but rarely eat out. We were passing last week and decided to go in for some food. I am gluten free and a vegetarian so eating out is very difficult. But they had a good GF menu. I ordered a cheese and broccoli pasta bake. It came with home cooked chips and salad and was really nice. My partner got the steak pie, which he enjoyed too. My daughter got the chicken nuggets. They were proper chicken breast so really good. They have a little play park for little ones out the back and they have a play room inside too. The staff are really friendly too. We would definitely go back.

Clean and well-presented dining area that was quite quiet for a Friday evening. Nice food, cooked well. The steak of the mixed grill was a little gristly in places, the rest was excellent. Steak and ale pie was good. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food prices were reasonable.

The Keel Row is a lovely family friendly pub, dogs are welcome in the bar and children have their own play area indoors and out, also a lovely beer garden for warm days. The food is amazing a good choice of menu options and all at a reasonable price. You will always get a warm welcome from Sharon and her team

The owner 'Madge' is great, friendly, helpful and runs one of the best pubs in the area. Family business with daughter running kitchen, great food. Decorated for Halloween and looking good, looks even better for xmas, lots on too. Child and dog friendly with good disabled facilities too.

Sunday lunch was lovely and amazingly the gluten-free one came with Yorkshire pudding. Service was good and it was packed so the atmosphere was nice. Will be back for the selection of gluten-free food available soon 😋

We had X 3 various Paninis which came with crispy chips and salad garnish. Mine had proper cooked ham in, not the horrible thin processed stuff. All three meals were hot, fresh and tasty. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

We had a group of just under 30 booked for a birthday meal, 1 of which was gluten free. All food was so nice. I loved how the gluten free meal looked exactly like the other meals so the person who needed it didn't seem an odd one out. The service was on point! All the staff were so helpful and lovely, easily approachable for any last minute changes and all help too.

My partner and I eat here often , the menu is extensive and the food is exceptional. The pub bar area is dog friendly with a separate large dining area for those who prefer . The staff are welcoming and friendly . I would highly recommend the Keel Row.
