An amazing pub with fantastic staff. Me and my brother stopped over on a work night. The food was absolutely amazing and good portions for the price. The chef on the morning making breakfast was a pleasure to chat with. 100% recommend to anyone

A great find at a sensible price. Nice little touches like tea/coffee & biscuits in the room, a pint of real milk in the fridge, even a foxes glacier mint! Oh and a fantastic breakfast!

Nice clean accommodation, in a very peaceful location. A lovely comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating with our vehicle emergency, allowing us to stay on site later while waiting for the tow truck and taxi. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again.

Rooms at the back of the tavern are great and equipped with a fridge. If your room is in the tavern itself there is a shared fridge and microwave in hallway. Breakfast is also available from 6:30 and evening meals from 18:00. Food is excellent and value for money. Visit Their website for more information. I would definitely stay there again.

I arrived after dark and left early for a course so didn't explore the area. The village though and the pub were easy to find and check in. As a solo traveller I felt very comfortable.

Just spent the weekend here. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Assortment of breakfast food and full English cooked fresh. Restaurant food was gorgeous and staff couldn't do enough for us. They also made our dog very welcome.

This village pub sits on the Isle of Axholme - on a road that was the River Don until it was diverted by a drainage expert four centuries ago. Not a tousist spot but the fenlike flat fields and network of drains between the rivers Ouse and Trent is fascinating. Comfortable, clean room, excellent breakfast and good pub grub food. Landlord was friendly and helpful, as were the staff. I would certainly return if I am ever nearby.

Just passing through the village and as it was lunchtime decided to turn back to this pub. Glad we did. Very warm and friendly welcome from the staff and chef (who might also be the owner). Had a great value Sunday lunch and would recommend you to give it a try.
