Came here about 5 pm on a Thursday. Glad we came early as it soon got busy. We had 8 tapa and a paella between us.
Roast Potatoes with rosemary - these were exquisite, one of my favourites. Slightly crunchy giving way to a melt in the mouth centre with the healthy taste of fat !
Truffle and Parmesan Fries - I was disappointed in these, did not pick up the truffle at all and they were just bland.
Mac and Cheese - Sauce good for dipping other stuff in but again this lacked punch and depth of flavour.
Charcuterie - Served in a dish on a layer of rocket. Would have been nice to have some olive oil on the table to drizzle on.
Hot Spicy Chicken Wings - not hot or spicy but were tasty enough.
Fresh Mussels - Came in their own little mussel pot, quite a lot of broken shells and grit. Thin watery sauce. My biggest let down. Doubtful of how fresh they were.
King prawn skewers - advertised as barbecued, shame I saw no char but they were tasty enough.
Calamari - these were immense. I believe they were in Panko breadcrumbs which made a real difference.
Seafood Paella - The top cm of rice was chalky and undercooked but once you got through it was tasty enough.
Although there are negative comments we really enjoyed the meal. The atmosphere was top notch, room big and airy with great views. Only two waiting on staff and I had difficulty in gaining their attention when required. But they were very pleasant.
Had one Old Fashioned cocktail and this was very well made.
Service charge added to bill at 5% which we were happy with. Total bill 90.
Accessibility - stairs at the front but they can let you in the back door to avoid them. There is a disabled toilet.
Great bar and restaurant.
Had their small plates tapas.
Everything was cooked fresh to order.
Service good.
Would highly recommend.
Have eaten here a few times, always great quality food and service. I had the spaghetti bolognaise (large portion) and my father had the small portion. There was no Difference beyond the £5 more I paid, but but was delicious all the same. The cesar salad side is also great and the macaroni cheese with ham!
Very nice food exactly as described on the menu. The pasta was served al dente not sure soggy and the salad had a light olive oil dressing (not loads of drizzled this, that or the other). The portion sizes are decent and neither of us left hungry. The beers and ciders come in bottles or cans but the menu makes that clear. The staff were friendly and very efficient. There would have been a nice view of the sea apart from the good old fashioned pea soup fog. We enjoyed it there and would go back.
Never had a bad food or drink experience here, food is cooked fresh to order, great choice of drinks with reasonable prices and great sea views (if you're lucky enough to get a window seat). Also has a comfortable lounge area if all you're after is a coffee.
It's not a problem for me but the place isn't wheelchair accessible due to steps up to the doors.
Excellent food, great staff and service. Surprisingly busy on a Monday night, signs of a great restaurant.
Ham hock terrine, goats cheese and charcuterie tapas dishes were superb.
Lovely ambience, the staff were excellent, they helped with wheelchair access, and my wife and I had a lovely early evening drink and meal. The bill was not excessive and represented excellent value for the meal and quality of service.
The bar is dog friendly, and we have booked another night out in the new year.
Dog friendly. Great food. Cocktail bar. Reasonably priced. Can't complain! We went here on first day of holiday and immediately decided we're coming back multiple times.
Also the cocktail bar is solid. We had the mocktails and they tasted like proper cocktails. Amazing!
Food was amazing. Best grilled chicken and calamari I've eaten. Fast service too. Friendly staff.
What an eating experience. We had just arrived in Scarborough & Google best restaurants nearby and we not disappointed or surprised Bareca came out top. Fantastic food & drinks at great value - both had Italian style meals and thought chef must have been trained in Naples ..so tasty. Went back next night & will certainly return next time visit Scarborough.
Absolutely lovely cocktails, staff are friendly and service is quick. Cosy place too! Would recommend a visit.
Food and cocktails were divine.
Service excellent. But pricier but you get what you pay for.
Everything was so delicious.
We will go again
Fantastic delicious food compliments to the chef. Visually beautiful. Staff lovely and on it. Venue was comfortable and inviting. 1st class all round. Would absolutely recommend.
Service was excellent, seated quickly, and food was of good quality. I would recommend it.
Drink - choice is plentiful, ales/larger are bottles or cans only.
Food - The only minor point is that a large percentage of menu items have cheese, so limits choice. Yes, I could ask for it to be removed but.
Nice restaurant attached to the bike and boot hotel! Friendly staff, good selection of main meal options (although it has no kids menu and as we found out the food maybe a little rich for young ones) but especially the pizzas which were very good! Local beers on offer too which was nice to be able to try some local ales. Would recommend to those without young kids to feed and who love dogs as you will definitely get to play with many as they’re allowed in the dining room.
Excellent service from a lovely, pleasant and helpful young man, Aaron, I think.
Excellent coffee, very nice food.
Great views.
Great food, great ambience with London prices.
Friendly staff, great food but in the end overpriced for Scarborough.
We had a really lovely meal but found it too expensive for what it was worth.
Very warm welcome as we entered. Staff so polite and helpful, and the food was delicious. Very happy
Lovely rooms", although they can be a bit warm. Great bar and great facility's for the dog, loved the free dog toy idea.
