We sat in the restaurant part I noticed that it was very clean and cosy . The girl who served us was very friendly made sure we had everything we needed, made polite conversation with us , she even got her calculator to add up everything to make sure we had enough cash on us as the card machine was disconnected . Thank God we did have enough.
The food was Fish and Chips , COD lovely � really enjoyed it eat nearly all of it .

Called tonight with our groups of children after an afternoon at the castle. Fab dinner but the service was superb. Really friending, accommodating and even cut up the sausages for the kids!

We were told Rennards sells the best fish and chips in Scarborough. Admittedly, we were told by the lovely lady who works there, but decided to risk it and grab a "small" haddock, chips and peas special for £6.95. Literally half the price of a fish supper on the seafront. How bad can it be? I did ask for Cod instead of Haddock as they were the same price on the menu, and was surprisingly given a fairly chunky piece of cod. Certainly not a child's portion, expertly filletted, and correctly deboned. I got home with my paper-wrapped box of still-steaming, delicious food. Reminding me of the good old days when you could taste the fish and tell what type it was. Chips were at least twice-cooked and fluffy inside. Peas were perfectly mushy and tasted of actual peas. Half a scoop of scraps deployed in the corner of the box for a little extra crunch. Did they mistake me for a food critic and pull out all the stops? Probably not. Maybe it just IS the best little chippy in Scarborough.
Had a takeaway from here a couple of days ago, it was honestly fantastic! The fish was cooked to perfection and the batter was lovely and crispy and properly cooked without being greasy. The wait wasn’t long and the portions were very generous for the price.
The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Nice and efficient all around, good food and good customer service, I would definitely recommend it again.
Popped here today with my elderly mother for fish, chips, and curry sauce. Karen served us, what a revelation, whatever Karen is getting paid, isn't enough.
Very friendly, amazing service, she even overheard us talking about having scrap sandwiches as a kid. So.... 2 minutes later a bowl of scraps arrive to go with my bread!

When staying in Whitby before ate here so on a day out from Scarborough choose to eat here. The food is excellent with the menu that is expected with a seaside venue .
Delicious fish and chips. Good size portions for a good price. We sat outside to enjoy our meal. I had the special menu with cod and gravy and it was delicious. The scampy was really nice and served deliciously hot inside. There is a paid parking site right in front of it.
Probably the best fish and chip shop in the centre of Scarborough. Sandy is a wonderful kind lady and is dedicated to providing a quality service for her clients. Excellent beautiful food. Customer focused and lovely dialogue whilst being served. The chips are always cooked just as one would expect.
Me and my second wife bought a large bag of chips here with a gherkin. My second wife enjoyed them very much and we both thought they were of excellent quality. We were tired having cycled some distance in terrible weather and the hot, tasty, salt and vinegar-laced chips cheered us up no end. It is a place to visit when in Scarborough.

Had a great fresh meal of fish and chips after 9.00pm Saturday night. After the majority of fish and chips shops had closed, they produced this fabulous meal cooked fresh which was delicious. I would highly recommend visiting their premises.
Went to this place last night 10/06/23 as we were there on a weekend break we asked if restaurant was open they said wasn’t open till next week but they said they would open it for us which we thought was great . Anyway we ordered our food which was fantastic service was great and they kept asking if everything was ok . Food was great fish was superb 10/10 from us by the way everyone in our party agree would befo go back 👍
Lovely fish and chips in a box. More chips than I could eat, even after a hard day cycling. Fish portion very generous Handy car parking just opposite in car park, then a short drive to the cliff top car park to consume said fishy delights.
Delicious food and great value for money. Staff were great and very accommodating of our two dogs. Not sure what they're doing differently but the gravy was some of the best I've had. Highly recommend!

Decent fish and chips, friendly owners. Probably could do with a lick of paint as Scarborough council have given it a zero rated food hygiene because of this. Unless I'm made to eat off of the floor or walls then I'm more than happy to keep this as my regular chippy in Scarborough.

Just had the £4.95 haddock take-out lunch. Brilliant value. Great Fish'n'Chips with peas and crunchlings thrown in. Friendly service. Would have paid twice as much for not half as good in my Devon hometown. Had a job finishing it - perhaps it was the beer.
Great fish and chips at a great price. Would highly recommend.
