The Byways - Scarborough - Photo album

Visited on a Wednesday evening while staying in Scarborough. Plenty of tables available and the restaurant had a clean and pleasant appearance. Service was quick, food was decent, ample and reasonably priced. Recommended.
This was our first visit to the Byways and what a little hidden gem it is. Upon our arrival we were greated by a very friendly member of staff, nothing was too much trouble and the chef even put Happy birthday on a plate as requested with our desert. All the staff were really friendly & welcoming. F
Had lunch here recently. Was lovely. Young man called Chris working there was exceptionally pleasant and happy to help us. Good pints and food at a reasonable price. Definitely good value and will be visiting again :)
A most pleasant experience, mainly down to one particular staff member - I think she was called Christine? From our arrival to departure she was the most polite, attentive waitress that you could wish to meet, she’s definitely in the right job. If her bosses read this then she deserves a pay rise a
Stopped here for lunch. Excellent value....2 full size meals for 11.50! I love the steak pie and my wife loved the chicken new yorker Plenty of parking, nice and clean with friendly staff including Meral who served us. Will come again when in the area
Excellent meal. Had the chicken Sunday roast. It was served quite quickly. Plenty of food on the plate and the gravy was divine. The sticky toffee pudding was really nice. I was very full. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Full marks.
Everything was perfect but just one small thing. Which was it was a case of finding your own table where you would normally be shown a table
You can't really go wrong with the Byways as it is a Greene King pub and I've never had a poor experience with Greene King. The staff are always super friendly and helpful, a great selection of food and drinks on the menu plus 2 for £6 on bottles you can't really complain. I only have two issues rea
Nice meal at a decent price. Staff very friendly. Very allergy friendly and Meral ensured that the children's food was safe for them
Whilst on holiday we went here to watch the footie. Screen was fantastic. Got good seats as arrived early. We had a few pints & the teens got food which was the chicken combos, 3 for 12 which was chicken nuggets, chicken dippers, chicken legs with a sauce dip. They had no nuggets so we were offered
The staff were exceptional, by far the best hungry horse I’ve ever been to, very polite and could not do enough to help, the lady who served our food meral I think, was again excellent very customer focused and polite. The chap behind the bar, sorry didn’t get his name again excellent can’t fault hi
Very friendly service from Meral. We ordered steak and it was inedible due to the quality of the steak - It was mostly gristle however Meral provided fantastic customer service and understood our frustration, replacing the meal with something else of our choosing for the same price point. The other
All enjoyed the food except the Mexican pasta salad should notify on the menu what the base is. A LOT of mayonnaise which unfortunately ruined it for me. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very accepting to us tweaking other meals to our liking. Will be coming back, just not for the pasta dish.
So pleased we dropped upon this great pub when we were looking for somewhere to watch the Lionesses live. We had Mega Breakfast, Full English, Bacon Butty, and Cornflake Chicken Burger - all lovely cooked, pleasantly served, clean, well presented, in a great atmosphere for the game. Lovely toast wi
Came for lunch. Was not disappointed. Fairly standard "Hungry Horse" meals from the set menu. Food up to it's usual high quality. served reasonably quickly (the pub & beer garden was pretty full and they were still on top of everything) by very friendly staff. Bottles were cold. Hand-pulled pint wa
Enjoyed a mixed grill whilst watching the football. The chicken, sausages and gammon were good. The rump steak was a little chewy/gristly. Nice chips and onion rings. For a "full monty" the amount of food could have been greater but it was adequate. The service provided by Meral was very good. Over
