Nice place, staff are very friendly and polite. I had lamb biryani (£14.5) and tandori king prawns (starter £7.5) - they both tasted very well. However, the prawns were a bit too pricey, and the beryani was a huge portion (enough for 2), a waste really, while one could pay less for a more reasonable portion.
Overall the place is very good and I'd recommend it.
Expect a long wait (15 mins at least after ordering) if visiting on wed/sun as the place is so busy due to 50% discount on those days.
We went on a Sunday evening, when there was a half price offer on food. This was very economical and great value. The place was busy obviously due to the huge discount. We ordered starters n a main each. The starters came within 2 minutes! So fast. Mains took a while as obviously they are cooked individually. Cobra was refreshing as usual. The lamb in my dish was succulent but dry in the byriani. However you do get a separate veg curry with the dry dish, but the curry tasted over sweet. The mixed grill starter had succulent chicken. Enjoyed y meal. Then you get a shot of something similar to Baileys when you pay your bill! Lovely end to our meal. You may need to book as it was very busy constantly.

The food is amazing! Best we’ve had , the staff are all lovely and chatty, they make you feel very welcome and go out of there way to assist you with anything!
Recommended by a friend and loved up to expectations, crispy poppadoms with chutneys and lovely fresh onion. We both had onion bhaji, crispy and light with shredded iceberg. Naan was light and fluffy, bhuna spicy with fresh veg, and chicken tikka was tender and flavoursome, two beers each and just over £60 - great value, lovely service, clean and fresh. (Even the loos - important!)

Haven't been here in over 8 years in that time I can't remember the difference my chicken vindaloo was fantastic very very warm, if you get the chance to visit save till Sunday as half price so a bargain went with a big party for a birthday celebration the staff very friendly and always on hand. Will be back for sure.

Definitely worth a visit we took advantage of the half price deal they do on a Sunday and was not a disappointment. Staff were friendly and helpful atmosphere was great.
We ordered a selection of starters, mains and sides to be eaten at the same time which was no problem. Everything was delivered to the table together all hot. They do only take cash not sure of this is only when it's half price but there is a cashpoint just round the corner.

We are very lucky in Scarborough to have loads of good Indian restaurants. But Royal Tandoori has the edge in my opinion. Dining in the food and service are faultless.Takeaway delivery is always within the promised time and arrives nice and hot.
Was one of the only places open when I went out for dinner, so I was ready for anything - but actually they more than exceeded my expectations with a really delicious meal. Great service, great meal. Slightly more expensive than I'd planned for but I honestly didn't mind much.

Really good Indian restaurant in Scarborough. Have a great range of dishes and reasonable prices too. Helpful staff. Tasted great too. On a Sunday they do half price night and on a Wednesday night they do a buffet night. Would recommend.
