I must be cautious not to drum-up too much trade for Bonnet's, I'd hate to cause any change their perfect formula. On the several occasions I've stopped here for a much deserved coffee I'm never disappointed. So, dear reader, be warned that you must endure a warm cosy atmosphere staffed by helpful friendly folk, fast on their feet without compromising on quality or the service of fine food (the home-made chips are sublime) and, of course, the consistently excellent coffee. It's a top-notch place! Please, if you're unsure, just pass on by and leave them unburdened to weave their magic, they don't need the stress...

Good quality meals snacks, cakes and chocolates. Lovely environment. Friendly staff. Don't do GF bread so menu limited for GF but they did have a delicious homemade GF orange cake on my recent visit. So good I returned the next day for another slice.

Went for lunch with ex-step mother-in-law and daughter for lunch. I didn’t try the chocolates but they looked very good, as did the large selection of cakes. I had the steak pie with new potatoes and veg and it was delicious. Nice and hot and just like home made. A main course was £10.95 which is a bit pricey but well worth it. For another £3 you could add a starter or dessert which made it good value, but I was full. The decor is a little old fashioned, but the place was clean and the staff were very friendly. Nice to find an independent place to eat in a world of fast food chains. Central location too. Would definitely recommend

The food lovely! The Roasted vegetables pasta bake was amazing. My mum had a caramel shortbread and she said that was lovely! Tempted by the meringue

A friendly locals hot spot. Busy but with quick service. We got a croissant, breakfast sandwich with bacon and sausage, hot chocolate, and cappuccino. Everything was top! The hot chocolate is made from real chocolate and was amazing! The breakfast sandwich's bacon and sausage was tasty and the bread thick buttery and perfect. Highly recommended!

Happened to discover this little place after walking down one of the side streets. Inside dining, upstairs ansna courtyard to enjoy the sunshine. Specials menu had an assortment of tempting meals. Reasonably priced. Nice to see a change of jacket potato fillings instead of the usual bog standard cheese, beans etc.. I opted for feta, walnut and caramelised red onions. The scones were some of the best weve had. Light, non claggy and sweet enough without being overly sickly. Delicious. Definitely worth stopping by for lunch. Quick service and friendly staff too.

Staggeringly good cooked breakfast in a chocolate shop ! Top quality local ingredients, amazing black pudding (yum) and beautiful bacon, the sausage was amazing 😋 ... then we bought some chocolates... Ooh were they good 👍.. (my Dad would always buy some for my Mum at Christmas when he was alive) and they were such a treat for her ! What a thoroughly lovely time we had in there, we were very, very content 😀

Stumbled on this place by chance after shocking service elsewhere wanting outside seating because it was sunny thought they only had 2 tables outside on the street but no a beautiful hidden courtyard and welcoming staff food delicious too 😋 definitely coming back

I always visited this place with my late Mum, she lived it. I had the cheese scones which we used to have and they were just as delicious. We had Coffee which for our personal taste was a bit too strong, so best to ask for half a shot if you don't like it too strong. We could not sample any meals I think due to restrictions, but all in all this is as it always was a lovely little cafe.
