Family day out staying at st helens visiting from skipton. Came to this loveky pub for our tea. Satin the beautiful beer garden. Was like sitting in our own back garden. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The menu was extensive and very good value. We all had a lovely meal and dessert. Also a large screen outside tv available which was handy yesterday for the boys to watch football. Best meal and day out ever. Highly recommended. Thankyou to all of you. We will be back.
It was an easy 2 mile walk from where we were staying in Wykeham. The pub has a traditional feel which was inviting and we were made to feel welcome by the lady who served us our drinks and also brought our food out. She appeared to be doing a lot but was friendly, helpful and smiley. The food was good and the menu had enough to choose from but not too much to make choosing difficult. Worth a visit.
Amazing Christmas meal for 11 of us.. Nothing was to much trouble for the lovely staff... Defo recommend it.
Excellent service , very funny waitresses comical , mike the bar man was superb bringing us ale outside whilst football was on , great pub food full plates great value for money , real homely feel a proper pub , landlady will bend over backwards to provide great service , great afternoon .
Beautiful inside and out, food was good and we'll priced. The staff were friendly and polite and gave both us and the dog a warm welcome. Would definitely recommend.
Had a beautiful meal last night the staff were so lovely & friendly & the locals are lovely & friendly too , will definitely go back .
Lovely meal. The Forge burger is homemade and delicious with the biggest onion rings I've ever seen!!
Fantastic value meals - we had 2 kids meals and the 2 for £10 deal plus we all had sweets. Plenty on the plates and it was hot and tasty too. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Will definitely be back if we return to the area :-)
We spent a good 3hours in the pub and really enjoyed it, the barman was really friendly too we will definitely be back.
Went there for a meal last night as it was very close to where we were stopping. The bar staff were terrific & made such a fuss of both kids & the 2 dogs, came to give them a fuss & a treat (the dogs not the kids!) They food was reasonably priced & the dart board was a hit with us all. A lovely family evening. Will defo return when we next visit west ayton.
Lovely village pub providing good value tasty meals and drinks. Tetleys bitter was excellent.
We visit every August from caravan club site and have never been disappointed. Sunday carvery is fab. Our grandkids loved it too, the chocolate brownie was super.
Keep up the good work!
Really good food nice friendly staff, and dog friendly too
Had a fabulous meal at the forge, very tasty, ample portions. I had one of the pizzas which was very nice, quite garlicky (so perhaps not for you if you're not a garlic fan), but the flavours complimented each other well and the base was cooked to perfection. Desserts were also delicious, my sweet waffle was incredible. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Despite it being busy (always a good sign) the service was quick and we weren't waiting long until we were tucking into our delicious meal. Although it was busy, the atmosphere was very calm and relaxed. Very dog friendly. One of the most welcoming places I've ever been in, such a warm and friendly environment and clearly a hub of the village, seemed very popular with the locals. Will definitely be returning.
Excellent meal the sunday lunch and desert, very friendly staff and great inviroment. They were very welcoming to buster the dog even serving him with his own bowl of water.
If I have one critic it was that the vegetables were served in one dish for two couples would have been better if my wife and I had our own serving.
A leisurely afternoon at Ye Olde Forge Valley Inn, West Ayton, enjoying a generous Christmas luncheon & excellent hospitality.
Lovely cosy pub. Very friendly staff and regulars. As we had a dog with us, there were only certain areas we could sit which was absolutely fine. Our own fault in that we hadn't booked ahead (it was midweek so we thought we would take a chance) so we had to wait for a table to be free. A lovely couple gave us theirs as they were only in for drinks and they sat at the bar. The food was plentiful and arrived promptly following the order. The pizzas are so tasty and fresh from the stonebake oven. We didn't have room for dessert though which I was a bit gutted about, but maybe next time.
Easy to book a table. Easy going staff. Nice atmosphere. Dog friendly at the bar area.
Slightly pricey for the quality and presentation. Food was tasty enough 7/10, which is not bad for local pub food. Large portions. Overall very pleasant experience.
Went for Sunday lunch this place was recommended to us and wow we weren't disappointed 🙂 food was amazing all cooked to perfection and the staff were fantastic. We had the standard but it beat us so would probably go for the small next time. But we will be going back.
My husband and I ate here last night and the food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Pizzas were fantastic! Would definitely eat here again if in the area.
We came for a meal mid August for our wedding anniversary. Absolutely sensational and highly recommended! We found out they also make their own pizzas for collection too - they looked amazing. So much so that we ordered two for ourselves a couple of nights later. If you’re in the area, you MUST visit.
After hearing some great feedback, we decided to try Ye Olde Forge Inn for ourselves.
We went for Sunday lunch & thoroughly enjoyed it.
We'll be back again very soon & will definitely be recommending this to our friends, family & customers.
What a lovely find whilst away for the weekend. Lovely dog friendly pub. Staff friendly and attentative. Food really good, huge portions. Would recommend
