Had a wonderful stay. From the moment we walked in the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room and given a full description of the facilities. The room was immaculately clean and the decor was superb, beautifully done. The bed was very comfortable. The bar was well stocked. A good selection of real ales. We ate in the bar and the food was lovely, breakfast was equally as good. The only criticism if this is a criticism is that with an obviously talented chef we would have liked to have seen a couple more choices on the menu, but overall The Plough is excellent. We will definitely visit again and also recommend to friends

PERFECT!! From the minute we arrived to our departure we were blown away by the hospitality of all the staff. Friendly, smiley and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect... and it was!! The cleanliness of the room and surrounding areas was absolutely impeccable, not a speck of dust or cobweb in sight! Our room was small but lacked nothing, so much thought has gone into the finer details. We had tapas on our 1st night and it was delicious. We have weekends away quite often but I don’t sleep well in a strange bed but the bed was so comfy I slept all night, bliss!! Cannot recommend this establishment highly enough and if you could give more than 5* I would give more!! Only thing I’d ask them to change would be the plastic straws at the bar... paper are better for our environment.

Stayed in the Yew Tree Apartment. Very nicely furnished, very comfortable and spacious. Warm and well stocked with amenities. My only comments would be that it seemed difficult to keep the place cool other than by opening the windows (in January) and that one of the WiFi systems didn’t seem to work. Would possibly have been nice to have a welcome pack of food but there was tea/coffee so that is really nitpicking. We ate in the pub across the road and they were very welcoming. Food was hearty (I would have liked to have seen some game on the menu).

This place is great. Make sure you make reservations early or you won't get a table until 9PM. We got lucky and there was a table at 8. I had the 8 oz fillet and it was amazing. The service is stellar and the people are professional and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Top notch food and service. Not over-pricey, and quality food. Value for money. Dog friendly too in bar area. Not many pubs serve *good* food but this is one.

What a find! We’d been recommended this dog friendly pub and checked it out last night. Food was stunning. Not cheap (Fillet steak £40) but again you get what you pay for. We would rather pay for quality food than have piled high average food. Lovely charcuterie board for starters and then 2 steaks. Lovely atmosphere and we will definitely be visiting again soon.

The cottage, 20 High Street, was decorated beautifully to the highest standards. Everything was extremely clean and very well maintained. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped, not a single thing missing that you would have in your kitchen. There was also a cute little complimentary milk bottle in the fridge. The bathroom was very aesthetically done. There was a flat screen tv in the lounge and both the bedrooms with Netflix on it! It’s a home away from home!

Gorgeous food. We had 2 courses each and all were really nice. Waitress service from the table let it down, waited ages to order more drinks and ended up going to the bar for our bill in the end. The drinks were nice, lovely cocktails, good pint. Christmas decorations made it feel very festive. Would go again.

Visited here with family for a meal, lovely venue for our get-together. Although it was busy, the atmosphere was good and staff couldn't have been more polite or helpful. The food was excellent, so all in all, there will be no hesitation in returning here in the near future.

The pie special was very tasty, light pastry with a smoky after taste. Several good beers on but was driving so only had a small sample. Friendly and efficient service. Advised to book a table in the evening.

It's a mixed bag. The terrace is pretty cold and I'd recommend a large coal or wood burner. I had the Sunday lunch beef topside, £18 which I don't begrudge, but for that, it needs to be perfect. The roast: Beef had been left under the hots lamps, either a lazy waiter or they are pre-plating it and letting it sit, no longer pink, either way the chefs fault. The fruit and veg is great. Great gravy. Roasted potatoes are passable. Waiter was inattentive and the menus needed a good wipe. The manager was milling about in a pink tracksuit, which gave the impression, I'd walked into a rave on a council estate. It's a pity, it could be an award winning pub, but it is sloppy on the details.
