Had lunch yesterday for the second time, group of 11 tasty food and great service, well priced too would highly recommend
Ticks all the boxes.. nice Pub for a drink and has a very good restaurant with quality food. Gonna be visiting plenty more times. So pleased we have got our Greyhound back.
my family arranged my surprise birthday party at the greyhound. It was a very busy night and all staff worked really hard but still carried on smiling. Buffet was lovely. Great venue for all occasions.
First time here & will definitely be going back. Lovely building full of nostalgia. Friendly and helpful staff.
Decided on something to eat, and the menu read so well. Can definitely recommend the steak and kidney steam pudding and the southern fried chicken burger. Both superb and just being able to taste the homemade goodness of it all. Marvellous. Also being able to watch the chef work was a bonus, as was him personally delivering my dessert, which was a warm Victoria sponge.. Which again I'd highly recommend.
Best food I've ever had in a pub. Actually really proper home made food. The amazing pies were made fresh in the morning, the chief was there who made them and told us. Generous portions too.
Friendly helpful staff and lovely setting. Children and dog friendly.
The toilet could do with a bit of an upgrade but it was clean. I am recommending this pub to everyone I know.
Great pub to take a coach party! Excellent service! Very friendly and welcoming! Plenty of room to park the coach! Great place to stop for food if you’re on route to Newmarket races! Highly recommended
We visited on Wednesday pie night. The pies are amazing and massive. Lovely meal, great value & good service.
Lovely bar with nice food and atmosphere. The chef was very friendly and helpful to make me a meal without dairy. Definitely recommend the place!
So refreshing to find a pub with proper pub grub.
They serve food all day, so many places in villages don't.
There's a garden and an average beer selection.
Not a bad pub. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Very nice, sitting watching the rain.
Busy for a Wednesday evening, full of locals which is always a good sign. Chicken and leek pie was enormous, brilliant value and very tasty.
Decent local pub nice beer range, good food.
Only had a couple of drinks so can't comment on the food. We sat inside and we're comfortable. A big screen TV was showing the sport. The garden looked like it would be nice in the summer but it was too cold for us.
A large group of us have just enjoyed a very good Christmas meal at The Greyhound. The food was all good quality, home cooked food at a very reasonable price. The service was good and the surroundings warm and comfortable. The staff deserve lots of credit for the service they offer. Our group enjoyed a really good Christmas celebration. Well done and thank you to The Greyhound 😊
found this by chance. staff gave a warm welcome and the carvery was amazing. i would suggest to provide napkins to hold warm plate. nice garden and play area for little ones
Visited ad-hoc, very welcoming, fault-less service, the food was excellent, well cooked and enjoyable.
Went there for the first time and it was such a nice experience. The staff and the food was really good. I found so many vegetarian options on their menu so I really recommend it if you are around Sawston!
I was passing through today and stopped in for a pint and something to eat. £5.15 a pint of Morretti, £12.95 for ale battered fish and chips. The food was really nice, but sadly very small portions. I had 10 chips!! This is the amount I'd expect in a kids meal, not an adults meal. Lovely pub, friendly staff... but I personally feel there wasn't enough chips with the meal. I left here and stopped somewhere else for a proper meal as I was still hungry. My friend had roast beef with all the trimmings and that was a decent (normal) sized meal. I wish I had that.
Had our work do xmas dinner there last night. Food was nice, loved the cauliflower roast, surprisingly tasty and tender. Staff were attentive and helpful. Very impressed. Thank you!
TARDIS of a pub! Looks small from the front but has had a few extensions in the 400 years it's been there. Extensive beer garden with 3 little chalet style shelters seating 8-12 each. Friendly owner and staff, chatted with me a while about the building. Beer was good, food was excellent! Ordered a rump steak, they were out so I got upgraded to sirloin for no extra. Reasonable prices too. Something to look out for and see if you can spot... Just for fun.
In the conservatory/dining room there are five posters with famous food related quotes on them. One of them has a spelling mistake! Why not pop into the pub, order a meal and maybe have a drink or two and see if you can find it! Even if you can't I'm sure you'll enjoy your visit.
