Went to this pub after a lovely walk in the Chilterns. Conveniently located near Saunderton train station with a free car park outside. Large outdoor area with some play equipment but not used as we visited in winter. Staff very friendly and welcoming and definitely worth a visit for this alone! We had a drink and then some dinner. Typical pub fare on the menu but perhaps more vegetarian options than you would normally get in similar places - chilli, veg curry etc. We had the mixed grill and the fish and chips - both hit the spot after a long walk.
Good home made food. Very tasty. Large portions and good value for money. The pub has an enclosed garden and a play house for the kids so very family friendly. Service was slow which is why I gave it four stars but I'm sure that was a one off.
Excellent standard pub grub, well kept beers and a really good price point.
Car parking is adequate but can be limited at peak periods.
No wheelchair access.
I recommend the Ham, Eggs and Chips and the Chilli!
Bear in mind that it's a pub without frills, it's the place to get a good wholesome meal at a reasonable price. I have been going for years and not ever disappointed. Well done to Mark the landlord and his staff.
Always a warm welcome. Great circular walk through Downley common, above Bradenham down to the pub and back to High Wycombe. Friendly staff and good honest food
Nice big garden with kids play area, bar staff very friendly and a fantastic menu very quick on food out of kitchen, cost on the two meals and two drinks under 30 so was happy with this Thanks 👍🏻

This large pub is the best place I have found that is coping with COVID properly. It has plenty of seating inside and in the heated marquee. Great food and a great Sunday lunch. In the summer a great garden for relaxing and plenty for the kids to do.
