Stumbled upon this little beauty whilst researching my family tree. Lovely friendly welcome from staff and locals. Decided to stay for lunch, one of the best steaks I have ever eaten; cooked to perfection. I could tell it was proper fresh along with the vegetable, nice sized portion. Also a proper sun trap. If you smoke cigarettes make sure you have plenty because there are no shops for miles around. It is served by a bus from Sandy and Biggleswade but check the times because buses finish mid afternoon, luckily the bus stop is outside the pub (in the direction of Biggleswade)
Friendly staff, absolutely stunning food, great atmosphere and perfectly served real ales. Highly recommended! Will be back soon!

The food, beer and welcoming atmosphere of this pub is superb. Give it a try on a jaunt out if you get a chance. :)
Good choice or home cooked food. Sunday Roast was great value and a great choice of beers, wine and gins.
Nice place with nice character. Warm fireplaces to welcome you. My wife and I had a sandwich each for a quick bite on the way somewhere. Food was served quickly and with a smile. Sandwiches were fresh and tasty.
Food tasty but beef a little hard for me to cut but really friendly staff that swapped my beef for turkey nice little place
Very picturesque village pub. Friendly atmosphere, welcoming and warm. Great selection of beers. Good homecooked food. Loved the pub dog Buster! 😉 😁
Warm and friendly. We dropped in for lunch and were welcomed by staff and locals. The food was great and well priced. Would definitely visit again but it's a long way from Nelson NZ.

Good selection of beers and lagers. Nice selection of food on menu. I had the pie and mash, which was lovely. Staff very friendly.
So nice to see Carin & Dave again and great to see The Chequers busy. As always a wonderful warm welcoming atmosphere, great good.
