John O'gaunt Inn - Sandy - Photo album

We went here for an evening meal. The staff were really friendly and service was great. The only downside was we felt the starters were over priced. Three bits of asparagus and an egg £11. It was nice though.
Stopped by for a Sunday roast and it was excellent. We had the beef and chicken roasts and both were delicious. The bread and butter pudding for after was very creamy. The price was also reasonable for such high quality food.
Ignore Kimberly Ellis and Amba Swain. A great pub, great staff and great food. We've been going here since Jane and Jago took it over as well as when they run the Hare and Hounds. You won't be disappointed 100% recommended
Really lovely village gastro-pub. Food was superb and plentiful. Staff and service was friendly and warm. Visited for my birthday and was a very special meal. Covid safety measures were respected and we were able to enjoy a lovely meal out. Will definitely return and would certainly recommend.
Delicious Sunday lunch. Lovely country village pub, lovely interior and large garden overlooking the countryside. Restaurant is really nice, great menu choices and drinks. Friendly welcoming staff Throughly recommend
It's run by lovely friendly people. The decor is nice. They have a good selection of wines and beers. The food is very good. I had the Sunday roast which was the best I've had in a long while.
Visited yesterday with friends. I had the chicken liver parfait for starter which was simply divine and for the main I had the sea bass which was beautifully cooked and accompanied with grilled vegetables.
Lovely atmosphere, Great food and service.
Second time here, had the sirloin steak, it was fantastic, just melted in your mouth. Staff were very friendly and efficient, atmosphere great.
Lovely staff, modern decor & great food locally sourced.
Location/decor, staff and food (especially the lamb) were all perfect. Thanks everyone, looking forward to returning.
We stopped here mid way through our ten mile walk for a much needed bite to eat. We ate in the bar area as we had our little dog with us. The pub is lovely and cosy especially with the log burner on. The portion sizes were generous and we couldn't fault our meal or beers! We will definitely be back
Very friendly and attentive service, clean and smart restaurant with tasty food, slightly higher priced but locally sourced meat
Another fantastic Mother's day meal, great service & (in my opinion) reasonably priced for 3 courses. My only issue would be that I don't normally eat 3 courses, 2 is generally enough for me so it would be nice to be able to have a 2 course option but if I have to eat more than usual, I can't think
This is one of the best pubs in the area. We are regulars here and you couldn't ask for a more welcoming pub. The food is outstanding, They have an excellent selection of ales and beer and the staff are superb. I don't want to say too much about it for fear it will get so busy that I will never agai
The pie!! What more can I say. The menu isn’t extensive but what it has is quality. Service is quick and the staff are friendly and attentive. My only feedback would be a bigger coffee machine. As one cup at a time seems counterintuitive when you have a larger table!
