Popped here why staying near Ash and I must say I am glad we did. The fish was lovely and large, even though we ordered the medium and chips were pretty awesome too. Only real issue is that parking can be a little tricky, but if you go late enough, then there are no restrictions on the single yellow line outside.

Absolutely delicious! The best chips I've had for a long time! Not greasy and piping hot! Sadly, it began to rain whilst we were sitting outside, but we still enjoyed our meal!

The haddock and chips were delicious with just the right amount of batter. Best fish & chips I have had for a long time as the fish was cooked from fresh and the chips tasted great too. Thank you Pappas in Sandwich, Kent.

I heard about this chip shop by Mickey Clarke on his wake up to money show. As I had only ever driven through Sandwich I thought I would make a day of visiting the town and using this chippy in the evening. So I was aware that the chippy was there. It does not make itself obvious. The shop is along the quayside with ample parking. There are public toilets opposite the shop but they seem to have early closing times. The shop is small with a low ceiling but surprisingly I saw a sign for upstairs seating but I did not venture up the stairs. Prices were reasonable, I expected higher prices because of the tourists visiting. The fish is presented in a box which was a plus. The fish size was OK but the quality was outstanding. The batter is beautiful, crispy yet melts in your mouth. Not too greasy. The fish is served with skin which some may dislike. The chips I loved dry and crispy. They do not serve gravy. The curry sauce is good. I was sceptical that this chippy would not be as good as Peters in Gillingham, but it has superseded it. This is my best chippy in Kent.

Great chippy in the center, good prices, ginormous portions. Sadly there are scant sandwiches scattered in Sandwich, but the proactive visitor can make a DIY one here. Ask for an extra bun (bread roll), along with fish and chips (haddock is a great option, the large portion is enough for 2), a side of mushy peas, tartar and ketchup. Break off some fish, layer it with chips, criss-cross with ketchup and tartar sauce. Slather the mushy peas on both sides of the bun. For some extra zhuzh, add a fishcake. Why not? You're in Sandwich, baby! Enjoy yourself the best cheapest and tastiest sandwich in Sandwich. I call it the Papa Tom Sandwich. You're welcome.

Lovely food. Picked the grilled fish, was cooked just rite. Staff friendly and professional and always making u feel welcome. Would recommend to anyone in that area. The chips and any fish are always freshly cooked with a lovely batter coating that isnt full of grease and a lovely crisp when you take that bite and every time we use the place we always satisfied.

Honestly one of the best chip shops around. I frequently visit Sandwich and this petit takeaway is always on the must do list. Never once have I been disappointed with my order. The chips are ALWAYS golden and cooked to perfection. Served in a box, your order may appear decietfully small but I promise there's plenty and it will hit the spot! Prices aren't the cheaper but it's Sandwich Quayside so they are what you should expect in all honesty. Its a busy little shop, but somehow they always manage to stay on top of their orders. Very highly recommended. - Special suggestion for a nice day: head to the Drill hall - order the fines pizza in the land, fetch a portion of golden chips from Papa's, return to collect your pizza, then take your order to the Quayside or the park up the way and enjoy the perfect alfresco combination!
