Have been staying in Sandsend for the past few days and have now bought bread and cakes, stopped for coffee, had brunch and this evening their EXQUISITE eight course fish taster menu!! This place is a true find and we can not recommended it highly enough if you are in or around the area. The food is exceptional, the staff both knowledgeable and friendly and best of all an extremely reasonable price (8 course taster menu for £30 pp!!!). Thank you Bridge Cottage Bistro for a truly unique and memorable evening!!

Me and my husband have been staying in sandsend every year for the last 7 years. I don't know how we ever missed this little gem. We went last night and experienced a very friendly and relaxed, stunning meal. Lovely staff. Definitely recommend to anyone. We will be back. Laura and Andy chambers x

My youngest daughter staying with me a few days away from town(London) and I drove over the Moors to this little gem. We both enjoy good dining and were charmed by the intelligent 'guys' explaining the detail of the delicious menu one Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. The seafood menu is perfect - just smart enough but with a fresh and relaxed touch that is a clever reading of what people are always hopeful of finding in such a place as Sandsend. Thank you.

Food, environment, location excellent! Lemon sole was gorgeous and loved the 'natural' Muscadet. We went back for brunch and we were not disappointed.

Found this almost by accident or divine intervention! Great friendly service and a wonderful venue. Food was tasty, well presented and creatively done. An inspiring place as these days there are too many places promising good food and service. Our lunch here made our trip to the Yorkshire coast even more memorable. Well done to the creative and hardworking team. Hope we can return soon.

Delightful setting and delightful food. Walked here from Whitby via the sands and don't doubt we will be doing it again.

Walked from Whitby on a sunny January morning. Wanted a brew and this was open. Had a lovely pot of tea. Looking at the menu on the blackboard enticed us to have lunch. My wife have a fresh crab and I had an open steak sandwich. Both were excellent, my sandwich came with a bowl of homemade fries ( as did the crab ) and was served with a fried egg and some salad. It really was superb. Will eat here again when in the area.

We booked in for the East Coast tasting menu - it was amazing! There were food combinations that I could not have dreamt up, and each was delicious. Razor clams with almonds, served on the shell. The monkfish with asparagus was even more wonderful than I imagined (and after it is cooked, is added to barbecue charcoals, which seals in the flavour). The atmosphere and surroundings were lovely, and it's only 2.5 miles from Whitby, so if you're staying there, you've no excuse not to walk down. Next time I am returning to Whitby, I will be booking the taster menu again, and come rain or shine, I look forward to a nice wander to Bridge Cottage Bistro.

Fish on Friday... but with a difference. Lovely tasting menu... 9 courses each as delicious as the one before. As a non dessert fan - even the dessert was great. Thanks to all @ bridge cottage bistro for a very enjoyable evening

New Autumn menu today. Had the Mussel Croquettes with Garlic Aioli. Very impressive. When it's busy service does slow down but there is nothing wrong with sitting and having a chat over a drink. Relax, have a drink and enjoy.

Visited here today food was lovely and everyone was very helpful. I had my 2 dogs with me which can make it difficult to order, nip to the WC and get seated appropriately, but they realy made me feel like nothing was too much trouble and made it possible for me to enjoy a lovely lunch... Thankyou!!

Our favourite place to eat on the North Yorkshire Coast. Great for a quick bite during the day, but their East Coast tasting menu on a Friday is worth going out of your way for

We had two excellent coffees (great coffee isn't all that easy to find! ) and a piece of homemade pistachio and rosewater tart, which was fabulous. Lovely little find.
