Yaaay! Another great eating place to be found on the Isle of Wight! Which after 20 years of coming here is an important point to be made...
Service was excellent due to the fact I don't drink so they replaced the beer batter on my fish and chips with soda water ( try it)

This is a really nice pub for dining. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and the decor and furniture is of a high standard.
Not a huge menu, but the food is well presented and fresh. Plenty of parking too.
Had the chance to have Sunday lunch yesterday. Well....... we were very impressed with the choices and the portions. I opted for the roast pork with crackling and stuffing. We were staying locally and chose the pub for its locality. Thank you to all the staff that made our dining experience a success. We will return for sure. Always good to find decent places to eat that are also dog friendly. Thank you.
We drove past this pub many times whilst on our holiday and liked what we saw so we booked a table for the evening before we came home. I have to say we were not disappointed. We were met by smiling faces and was led to a lovely table. The food was absolutely lovely all three courses. The young lady serving us was amazing and really chatty and cheerful ( long dark hair).
The ambience inside the pub was very relaxing we just wish we had visited sooner.
Thank you for a great meal and your lovely hospitality, we will visit again next time we come to the island.

The cocktail 🍸 were lovely and the food was delicious ( I had the steak and ale pie 🥧)
I came here with my family. We were greeted at the front by very friendly staff and was helpful with any questions I had regarding the food.
There was plenty of parking it's very local to the premier inn hotel. It's a must go if you are Hungary and in the area.
Booking was easy, staff were very friendly on arrival and explained the ordering process.
Once ordered there was a bit of a delay with the food order as the pub was very busy, but this was explained when I ordered. The food was lovely. Good portion sizes and cooked very well. A good well stocked bar with plenty of beer options to suit all.
The team worked very hard to ensure we had a pleasant experience.
Not bad food in this rather nice restaurant, doesn't look much from the outside but once you walk in will be pleasantly surprised. Nice touch are games provided for families to socialise whilst waiting for their orders.
Been here on several occasions and can thoroughly recommend.
Note - don't go too late, kitchen shuts down around 8-9pm.

Friendly welcoming staff. Although there was a notice saying that food was taking 45 minutes, we received after 25. The sign was most helpful, knowing that the food was going to a while. Nothing worse than having to wonder if the order has been lost ! So well done on keeping everyone up to date. The food , when it arrived was lovely and both of us had a lovely well presented meal.
Beautiful pub, friendly staff. The food was delicious and the drinks were well priced. If we are back in the area we would definitely visit again
Visited the pub while we were over on the Isle of Wight. The food was incredible and the service was amazing with a great atmosphere. They made us feel welcomed and couldn’t do enough for you, would highly recommend visiting the pub for a meal and drinks, we will definitely be returning to the pub. Husband and I went to check out the food and atmosphere and were very much pleased. We had different choices from the Grill menu and unfortunately my Rump steak was no longer available so I was given a Ribeye at no extra cost. The restaurant was charming and staff really helpful. It was our last night on the island so we wanted to spoil ourselves with steak.
Worth going on a Thursday evening as we got 30% off our steaks!!!.
Desserts were lovely and a great choice including a full and separate Gluten free menu!!. Wow!!
Great experience. Dog friendly which is just what we needed as we brought our dog on holiday with us. Good selection of food and drink.
We booked a table for 8.30pm for food as most places, their kitchen closes at 8pm. So we were super happy with this!

The only downfall was an unruly customer who kept shouting and swearing but staff were quick to remind him of other customers.
Will happily return next time we are on the island!
First time to the place, will not be the last. Already booking another meal in a fortnight. Staff were pleasant and helpful, not over the top and false.
Food is good value for the money paid, nice garden, what more do you need ?
We had the special lunch menu which was on offer for two courses. Main course was tasty but small ( reflected in the offer price) but the dessert more than made up for it so overall a good deal. The service was good
We found that the Merrie Garden provided a nice relaxed atmosphere with good indoor and outdoor seating available to suit all weathers. The food we ordered was good although I could not help but feel for the prices charged the portions were a little below my expectations. I found the bar staff to be friendly and attentive for taking orders although the discount email seemed a little disjointed from my booking. Service was within my expectations in terms of waiting time and I would recommend this place to others.
Biggest disappointment for me was that there was no Pedigree available.
