From the moment you walk in the ambiance is cosy and comfortable, the staff incredibly friendly and efficient and providing tasty food at prices that aren't a rip off. Combined with fantastic music to listen to , what a lovely place to spend a few hours. Never felt obliged to write a review for anyone before, but I'm so impressed, can highly recommend.

My friend and I called in The Gaslight Café for breakfast. What a marvelous café this is! The large breakfast with coffee was £6. The two sausages were very good (all men judge cafes by the quality of the sausages!) Two large eggs, two bacon, and the baked beans were delivered in a little pot which keeps them warm. Two large slices of proper toast and three little packs of butter. The coffee was good as well. Cleanliness and service: Excellent! - I shall be using this café again... Thank you, Café owners.

Fabulous place. Good food at very reasonable prices and lovely helpful staff. Live music on occasions adds to the wonderful atmosphere! Great to sit, relax and watch the old London Underground trains pulling into Sandown Station. Looking forward to my next visit!

Lovely cafe and such a nice change from the same old bog standard decor that we are used to in Sandown it's very refreshing The staff make the place they are so friendly and welcoming think this is going to be our local. Thumbs up from me

Lovely event held there today. We had tea, cake and a milkshake. It was extremely busy, but the staff remained calm and friendly. The cake was amazing!!! Everything was reasonably priced (and I'm quite tight!), Recommend arriving early and popping in.

Alison and her team have put hard work into this place. When a booking fell through this was the most welcoming stop off with great crowd and hospitality on a cold night. Alison not only seated us with refreshments but took time out of her evening to find us a hotelier who could accommodate us at the last minute. She and her team helped us with our bags to our hotel and made sure we were settled in. What an asset to Sandown! Thank you so much :)

An amazing day out in sandown made better by the experience in the Gaslight Cafe. We received service with a smile for a start, the food was brilliant and the care taken was the best. The lady at the cafe even gave my mother a lift to the beach because we couldn't get a taxi for hours. All in all I would recommend everyone passing through the station to pop in and get some ice cream and waffles, it's great! Thanks for the excellent hospitality!!

Just overjoyed to find a cafe still trading at the station, though not the same one as 4 years ago. Friendly staff, lots of food choices and reasonable prices. Takes me back to the days of 'refreshment rooms' on railway stations - lovely piece of nostalgia!

Excellent cafe on the platform of Sandown Railway Station. Home made cakes and the largest scone I've ever seen. All at reasonable prices. The lady running the café was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Lovely warm atmosphere, very homely. Wonderful musical evenings, mostly jazz/40's. Small in size, big in heart!
