We had the Xmas dinner on the 21st of December, & it was gorgeous. We're definitely going to bully the chefs for the spiced apple & parsnip soup recipe, & the homemade chicken liver pâté was to die for. The mains were perfect, especially the veg...& we didn't have enough room for dessert! An absolutely great dining experience, topped off with a bubbly, cheerful barperson. We're definitely going again!

Brilliant food and very friendly and bubbly staff members. Highly recommend this place for a sunday roast/ a few beers. Book in advance as they get busy for the roast dinners.

Found this place by accident and we were not disappointed. The steak pie was outstanding and just what we needed. Lovely friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. Would highly recommend. We will be back

What a find, super little pub, warm friendly staff; restaurant was compact and bijou, food was fabulous! Crispy potato skins with oozing cheese, steak, soft and buttery, garlic chicken - very garlicky but superb, chips were great, crispy outside, fluffy inside! I indulged in a taste but the bread and butter pudding was lovely. Highly recommend this place based on today's fare.

We stopped for a drink or two on Christmas day, when hardly anything else was open in the town. The place was very busy, with mostly locals, but we found a table in the area nearer the road and spent a very pleasant hour relaxing there with our dog and chatting to others in the room. Staff were obviously busy, but coped as if they weren't :-) We'll visit again when we are next in the area.
