We Visited last night after a quick Google search and this great little place caught our eye, no nonsense home cooked food booked in swiftly for 8pm.
My lad had Bolognese, as he has been very used to authentic pasta at home he was given it the thumbs up, and the garlic bread was also spot on.
My misses had the crab which was also top notch as was my tasty gammon streak..
The owners are wonderfull, friendly welcoming and run a great place, we loved it!! The young waitress was also a sweetheart and was perfectly well mannered and professional.
Both myself and my misses both work in 5 star hospitality and we see a nice proffesionsl family restaurant and we will defiantly he back on our next visit to the island.
Cannot recommend enough..get booked in
Had a great Sunday lunch here with friends. A cosy bistro style restaurant, busy which is always a great sign- worth booking a table. Four of us went all of us had three courses with a bottle of wine and a couple of beers. Fresh ingredients, dishes made on the premises, all delicious and filling portions, friendly service good wine selection and at around £26 a head for 3 courses and drinks it was excellent value. Have no hesitation to recommend and will return - Thank you (y)
Just got back from a lovely meal. I had steak and chips with peppercorn sauce which was cooked to perfection. My husband had chicken curry from the specials board. Our sons had a burger and the 5oz rump steak. The food arrived quickly and was piping hot. The puddings were treacle sponge, rhubarb crumble, chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. They were all delicious. I can't recommend the food or service enough.
This place is a real gem . Came here for the gluten free options and it didn't disappoint ! Fully recommend !
Wow cannot believe we have never been to Bellamy's Bistro before! My husband and I went in for lunch today and the place is lovely, the service great and the food so tasty! We had a jacket potato and a sausage and mash but will go back for the dinner menu for sure! The wine was really nice and my husband commented that the pot of tea was lovely too. Cannot wait to go back
Finally got to eat here after being told how good it was and not disappointed. Friendly, attentive staff. Great choice on menu, plus extra seafood menu, plus big specials board on wall!
Me and my friend had homemade steak and kidney pie which was delicious, followed by salted caramel profiteroles.
Will definitely be coming back
We have been coming to this family run bistro for 8 years now whenever we visit the Isle Of Wight. It was recommend by the owners of a local B &B and we love it. Yvonne and Simon are very welcoming, the staff are attentive and friendly too. The food is delicious and cooked freshly for you. The house red wine is very nice too and very reasonably priced for a glass. As well as the main menu there are specials on the black board along with captions composed by the owners to make you smile.
Give it a try.
Tried after reading fab reviews and was not disappointed! Seafood platter, pasta, crumbed fish, garlic bread and chocolate pudding were all very yummy. Friendly attentive staff. Great Find!
We came here on a surprise anniversary date by our parents and they couldn't of chosen a better place. Very friendly people who couldn't do more for us. They didn't have a drink I liked so went out to get one for me. I was very hot so they opened doors and put fans on even though it was a very cold windy night. The food was fantastic and we have to say this is the best restaurant we have ever been to. Thank you.
Visited Bellamys for the first time, excellent food good service, and good value for money, would visit again if ever in Sandown, a little gem

Four of us went to Bellamys for the first time this evening and were lucky to get the last table (we hadn't booked). There was such a great choice of food, both from the menu and the specials board that it was hard to decide. All of our meals were lovely, piping hot and delicious. The staff were super friendly and made us very welcome.....we will definitely go back.
Meals were excellent. Service excellent. Shame it was closed on a Monday would have gone there again. Well worth a visit. If you can book a table as very popular.
Called in on the off chance. We were made so welcome by the friendly staff and the food was lovely and fresh just like home cooked. We will certainly be calling in again. Only next time we will book to ensure we don't miss out.
We were in Sandown and came across Bellamy’s, a restaurant that calls itself both a bistro and a cafe. From the outside, it did seem more like a bustling cafe – black and white check table cloths, bottles of malt vinegar on the tables and happy diners tucking into large plates of pie, vegetables and mash, fish and chips and ice cream sundaes. There was also a table of people eating a lobster platter. We were intrigued. The menu was indeed eclectic: main courses ranged from home made steak and kidney pie, chicken curry, pasta and various seafood dishes.
Great hosts cooking up some great food, the whole family loved it. Lots of menu options that are also gluten free,
We had a delicious meal here on the final night of our holiday. The food was delicious - all served up with warmth by the owners. There was something for all the family to eat and my 12 year old son said the steak he had was the best he'd ever eaten. We were stuffed when we left and would definitely return!
Great food as always. Recommend to book even in the week as it gets busy quickly.
Amazing food, friendly staff and lovely restaurant. Loved it !
Highly recommend this restaurant. Very good food and very friendly staff.
This place was recommended so we booked but had to wait a few days as they were full. Duly arrived for dinner, lovely warm welcome by hosts, fab menu choice and specials board. Amiable atmosphere, cosy feel but not cramped even though it's a small place. We had 3 courses but ate mains before I remembered to take a pic so only starter and puds attached. Full portions, no skimping, delicious and well cooked - garlic mushrooms, prawn cocktail, profiteroles and Eton mess; with wine and beer, quite reasonably priced. Definitely recommend this place, a great find in Sandown run by a lovely Brum couple 🤗
We was recommended Bellamy's whilst down on holidays and we were not disappointed, the waitress and chef were very welcoming when we turned up unannounced and found a table for us.
Everything was clean and tidy with nice music playing in the background creating a relaxing atmosphere.
The food was amazing all home made using fresh produce, it was delicious.
The chef and the waitress were quite clearly very special people who took great pride in what they do to create a pleasurable experience for their customers and that's something you don't get anywhere anymore.
We enjoyed it so much we went again the following nights.
Absolutely amazing food, Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend!
Visited twice in three days. Simple but classy dishes done very well and served with a smile. There's not a lot of dinner restaurants to choose from in Sandown these days, but even if there were many more, this place would still be first on the list.
Me and my wife went to this restaurant for the first time last evening. We were welcomed warmly, the atmosphere was brill and seating well spaced out. We had garlic bread with cheese for starter and it was lovely. For mains we had the steak and pie of the day, both were presented well, piping hot and delicious. We couldnt go for dessert as we were just to full. Overall it was a brilliant experience , so much so we went back tonight and it was all just as good.
Highly recomended, but do book because its really popular, and deservedly so.
