Tigh Na Mara Hotel - Sandhead - Photo album

Slightly disappointed when we arrived as the front of the building looks nice and traditional but the car park behind was full of trailers and other detritus, and the rear of the building ugly pebbledash with extensive flat roofs and plastic doors and windows. The rooms are modern and clean. The ser
Delicious food and excellent service. Gets busy at weekends so best to book. Nice beer garden too. Thursday to Sunday you can order takeaway from Tig to go. We sat in the beer garden with a couple of drinks and had a takeaway. Highly recommend both the restaurant and takeaway.
Called in last night while passing by in our camper, had Beautiful fish and chips, chips served in a separate bowl which is why there aren't loads on my plate. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely surroundings. We will definately go back, congratulations on your award. You work hard for it
Nice big room, clean and with everything you need. Decent selection of beers at the bar and a nice dining room with good food.
A brilliant place to eat. The food is of high quality, flavourful and well presented. A real sense of freshness. The pricing is avg but fair for what you get interms of portions. Overall a great experience. Secondly the takeaway option on site is an amazing addition.
We stayed here while driving the south west 300. It was our Tuesday night stopover. Our bedroom was on the small side but with a generous en suite and had a genuine sea view. The owners look to have invested good money in refurbishment. The bedroom was nicely decorated and the en suite as new. The b
The food here was amazing. The perfect place which suits all appetites
Nice restaurant albeit a bit pricey if you are a family. But food is good. Not much else going on in sandhead. But restaurant is popular with the holiday park tourists and owners. I would use it a lot more if prices were not as they are.
Beautiful food, excellent staff who were polite and friendly. Being able to take our dog was an added bonus.
Great food, good size portion so great value for money. Super staff, very welcoming and excellent service Location on the beach for a nice stroll 😁
We booked into this Beautiful Village Hotel, in Sandhead, on the Rhins Peninsula of Dumfries and Galloway. The Atmosphere in here is so lovely, as was the Warm Service from All Members of Staff, including the Owner "Dot". My Father-in-Law fancied some Haggis, Mashed Potatoes and Peas, (which hadn't
We sat out in the sun for lunch, service was prompt and friendly and efficient. Food was good and well presented. Happy to recommend.
A quaint Hotel in a very quiet location, with sea views and most importantly the food is more than average and piping hot brought to your table by efficient friendly staff.
Stoped for some lunch was very surprised at the size of the restaurant which also had a Fantastic outside area to eat too. Very friendly staff. And the toastie I chose was lovley. Highly recommended.
Hidden Gem. The food was absolutely delicious and staff beyond helpful. Can't wait to go again.
We try to visit here every time we come to this part of Scotland because the food is lovely. Has the Tig to Go a few times and can't fault it. The chef is lovely and friendly too. Also had a meal with friends who live in Stranraer and again staff were lovely and the food yummy. Had the beef dinner a
