Beautiful location in Saltford overlooking the weir. Ideal stop for cyclists as just off the Bristol to Bath cycle path. (Just before Bird in the hand) Really friendly staff and landlord. Open fire in the winter. Have eaten there several times and the food is outstanding. Live music on the weekend. Really recommend a visit.

Best fish and chips i've had for years. Beer batter was light, crisp, tasty and not greasy. Chips were crisp and fluffy. Service was excellent and restaueant clean and comfortable.Highly recommend this pub.

Had a gift voucher for a meal for two for Christmas from our daughter. The atmosphere was great, the food was excellent and the staff were amazing. Enjoyed it so much we stayed for the quiz. Such a great night. Already planning to go back. Thank you all for a lovely evening

A wonderful pub under new management, that was the highlight of my family's day out for my mum's birthday. The staff were delightful and brilliant with a great attentive, fun and caring attitude. A wet day but we felt very cosy in the conservatory-style dining area. We had been a fair bit in the past and will absolutely return! I cannot praise the staff enough, they were fantastic :) The food was delicious with a wide range of menu options, but all that we saw and tasted were done to a great standard, which is not always the case in many pubs. Thank you and See you again soon Jolly Sailor!

Not been back to the Jolly Sailor for quite a while, but pleasantly surprised. Lovely location. Friendly, helpful staff, good menu selection and quick service. Chose the Ploughman's which was quite large and filling. No problems with parking, registered quickly and easily on tablet at the bar.

I really like this pub, so friendly the staff are really great and on top of everything, a great range of food and surprisingly ploughman's on the menu, £14 something for a huge plate full and the meat was very tasty, I was tempted with the roast but had my favourite. good beers and larger, dog friendly, some of the customers were loud but thats not a locally thing more a party. very clean and has a parking registration which isn't a bad thing. I will be back for the roast or curry, whichever I'm looking forward to it, thank you!

The Jolly Sailor is in a beautiful location by the river at Saltford Lock. A single track road takes you down to the carpark which is free if you register at the bar. Food was standard pub grub. The chips were described as 'gourmet', but they were standard fried chips. The outside area is lovely with lots of space and beautiful views. The service was great, attentive, and knowledgeable.

Beautiful spot with decent food - great for refreshments if you're spending the day by the river in Saltford. Not the world's nicest loos but the location makes up for it!

Very nice. Great location. Very pretty. Long wait times though only 2 staff in the place by the looks of it and pretty expensive compared to bird In the hand just up the road. But all around pleasant experience.

At the end of a single track road from Saltford village, lovely waterside location next to a weir and lock gate on the Avon River. Views are amazing, a really nice place if the weather is good in the evening. Free parking which you have to validate in the pub or just pay for parking if swimming, cycling or paddle boarding nearby.

Great food. Good host. Empty pub - but the weather was lousy. Very nice setting on the river. Would happily return.

Great food at this pub, a bit of a trek off the beaten path but when you arrive you get a decent car park, and the views and countryside are pleasant. The food was cooked very well, piping hot and very good helpings for the main course. The starters seemed small but they were a good size to have with the main. Have eaten here a few times before but really love it. Best to go when the sun is shining bright though ☀️

Very nice local pub with a spacious garden. Staff is very quick and speedy and super kind. Good selection of local beers, and an additional bar if you prefer cocktails. The food is very good too - I especially liked vegetable samosas as a starter.

What a lovely pub by the water. Great outdoor seating by the river and its very nice enjoying your drink or food and watch all the boats pass by. Food was very good, we had Sunday Roast, my pork roast was belly so it was a little fat but being belly, it’s understandable. But very delicious everything. Will definitely be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went here last night. Meal was outstanding. We had 2 courses and we were all stuffed! Very fast service, friendly and polite staff! Can't wait to return in the summer and sit outside by the river. Beautiful location! 😋

Went to catch a live gig, Steve West, covering crooners & other great songs. Plenty of parking - FREE but use the tablet at the bar to "register"; outdoor seating overlooks the river (table brollies available); good selection of drinks - cider for me, thanks! - and friendly service. Sat amid other tables who'd ordered food; each table's arriving food looked & smelled delicious! Quick look at the menu suggested fair prices for the serving size. Bar snacks available (we got crisps). Curious enough to go back and try the food sometime...

Used to come here often. Haven’t been for a year now. Went with friends. Had a light lunch . Ham baguette which came with salad and crisps. All very nice. The owners were lovely and kept us topped us with lots of water with ice as it was so hot. The only thing wrong which was quite a sad site was it’s looking so run down. Needs weeding. Pots need some plants or flowers in. Bench tables were newly painted and clean but the wood work on the building itself need such a good sanding and new paint job. Xxx will go again for sure. Just worried this will put others off and ruin the traditional busy atmosphere.

We stopped of a bite to eat today, food was very good and lots of it and good price. The only let down was the, condition of the premises, some places need a good clean we sat in the conservatory the window we're dirty looking out and window seals need a wipe and floor needs a good mop bits of food left on the floor from yesterday But however nice view of the river Avon

We sat outside next to the canal, it was glorious, the food arrived quickly and was fantastic. The service was really good, polite staff. Would certainly go back there soon. The sound of the river rushing over the weir made the location perfect. Thank you.
