Bird In Hand - Saltford - Photo album

A decent wee pub on the cycle path! Typical drink selection in the form of Doom Bar etc. and also Beavertown for the kids. Fairly adventurous menu too, with potted smoked mackerel and really good whitebait. Decent chunky chips as well.
Happened upon the Birds Nest yesterday morning on a bike ride up the Bath Bristol cycle path. Service was great and the surroundings were beautiful and tranquil. Will absolutely be back.
The food at the Bird in Hand used to be excellent and good value, but less so now. The food can be quite basic and yet no longer cheap. It's still a good place, but not as good as it used to be. It also gets a lot of cyclists just stopping for a drink, taking some of the outside tables, reducing the
Enjoyed our mid week lunch here.. very nice food served by some very young, friendly and efficient staff. Well done BIH 5/5
Visited for lunch today and staff were so friendly and efficient. 5 stars isn’t really enough! Food also great and they went out of their way to provide for a vegan member of our party. Amazing little pub and we will definitely be back. Thank you!
Stopped by this pub last night and had a lovely evening, it’s a great local pub! The food was really good (big portions) and the staff were great! The man (with an arm tattoo) who served us was super friendly and was really helpful when I asked about dietary restrictions! Will definitely be back!!
A lovely place to eat. The food is really good, very hot and good quality. The service was a little slow but that wasn't a problem for us. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Average prices but worth it.
Nice pub to visit. It is oriented to passing trade, particularly small groups and those using the Bristol to Bath cycle path. They serve excellent food here and after telling us there was a delay on food, we were still served in 20 mins or so. Very good service. There is parking, though bays are on
The best fish pie ever. Very happy friendly staff. We sat in the conservatory which was quite noisy. However had it been nicer weather we would have sat in the lovely garden.
Great food, friendly staff and will definitely be coming back. Thank you. X
Lovely pub, with great food, and friendly staff. Look forward to visiting again sometime :)
We were recommended to check this pub/ restaurant out & loved it. Great food & service. On the pricey end for pub meal for us on a budget but worth the treat.
Simple pub food, prepared and cooked perfectly. I had scampi and chips 13 scampi, good size and very chunky chips. Food came quickly after we ordered it and was nice and hot. Bit more expensive than the chain pubs, but worth the extra. Big car park if you're driving or just by cycle path if that's y
Very nice pub tucked away from a busy road but conviniently next to the Bath/Bristol cycle path. Quite busy at Lunchtime but order was taken quickly and food came after a short wait. Was very good food, but very filling. Parking is a bit tight, not many spaces, so advice is to share a lift if possib
Lovely little place and amazing food! We were served by Collin and he was absolutely fantastic!
Great local pub, good selection of food and drinks. Cheesy chips are great, and guest ales can be interesting. Parking can be tricky - it is a popular place when the sun is shining. And the kitchen closes at 9pm sharp, not negotiable:)
