A short break away to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Having previously read reviews we were really not certain of what to expect. We found ALL the staff were friendly and eager to please and ensure we were enjoying our stay. Our breakfast was very good and plentiful. We had just the one evening
Excellent, very comfortable stopover. The whole place looked recently refurbished, and the room had good facilities - nice modern bathroom with a kettle in the room. Didn't eat in the evening but the breakfast next day was very good, just choice of items on the menu, not a buffet. Nice views over th
Such a lovely place . Rooms are lovely. Confy beds and nice facilities. Views over the reservoir . Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was really good too. I would highly recommend. Only observation is that there are no usb points in the bedroom which woukd be a nice addition.
We had the pleasure of staying here when going to a friends wedding at Danby castle. Keith and the team were so friendly and welcoming. The rooms were spotless and really nicely decorated. They also assisted with our early check-in request. Couldn’t recommend highly enough - will certainly be back!
Stopped on the way back from Whitby, this place is also called The Sneaky Fox. Welcome was really good from the young American guy behind the bar and the food was very nice. We had Homemade Cheeseburger, Goats Cheese Salad, Fish Pie and Fish finger Sandwich. All the food was great. The kids played C
This hotel is beautiful. The staff are great and the food was great also. The room was lovely and clean. The only negative is its advertised as Saltburn by the sea and this was about 8 miles away. The only way to get to the bars and restaurants is either drive or get a taxi etc. We wanted to go from
Had a great stay, Keith was incredibly friendly and helpful, enjoyed the lovely view over Scaley Reservoir and surrounding countryside. Really nice location although the road is busy. Bedroom was very tastefully decorated and set out well with a very good ensuite shower room. Restaurant area/breakfa
Nice rooms, friendly staff, food was good. I liked the roof terrace. I imagine it's a place more suitable for families during the day . The geese at night were impressive
Stopped for a spot of lunch after walking the scaling dam reservoir. Lovely staff and great fresh food on offer. Even stayed to play the 18 hole mini golf they have next to the children's play area. Will definitely be back again.
This is the 2nd visit and we had breakfast. One vegetarian and one meat, both were excellent. The meat breakfast had very tasty bacon and sausage, I guess local and not your normal Walls rubbish. I highly recommend this place for food, service and views across Scaling dam.
Stayed one night, great welcome from Alex (very welcoming and helpful Canadian) who showed us to our room. The manager and all staff were friendly and accommodating. Had dinner and drinks, lovely food with great portions. Room was generous and high spec. Recently renovated and has been done really w
Brilliant place. Amazing for the kids with huge play park and adventure golf. Large outdoor seating in the afternoon and evening sun And the nicest staff that I have come across in a long time.
Last time I visited was 41years ago as the Grapes. What a lovely friendly business it is now. Had coffee and Cake - really friendly young man served us. Immaculate inside. Must visit again when down from Northumberland
We stopped as we saw the playground. Ordered coffee and cakes. The portions were generous. Staff were very friendly!
Just passing on the way to an appointment and decided to stop for a light bite. Had the best ever freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and jam with a proper pot of tea. Not at all what we expected but delighted. I thanked the lady who baked them as they were really special. Many thanks
Lovely hotel, very nicely presented. Tasty food and a great remote location. The service was excellent, very attentive staff. Only downside was the bed was very springy.
Stopped for lunch. The staff were lovely, the food was great and so was the Black Sheep 54 lager was spot on. Would definitely visit again
