Just had dinner here and staff were very friendly, food was very good, generous portions and good quality! Steak was 10/10
Service at the bar was lovely the young lady that served us was really polite. We had to wait a little while for our starters which we did enjoy but then our mains never appeared. Waited an hour 20 and still nothing. We did eventually get an apology that it is coming but then still waited. We then approached the bar lady that served us told her we wanted to pay without the mains and she was just as surprised that we haven't received it yet. She couldn't apologise enough, she was amazing from the start just a shame that we didn't get to eat a full. Meal tonight. Considering we travel a lot to try different foods this was by far the worst food service we've ever had.
Very nice pub with tasty food. We will definitely come back. I ordered beef pie this time served with super creamy mash and peas. Everything was tasty and portion was big enough for person with huge appetite ;)
Many thanks to Sam, joey and all the staff. As Arnie said, "I'll be back " cheers Mick, Trice and Linda. Sorry I forgot to mention, it was a pleasure to meet David the CEO and his family. What a welcoming and warming person.
The chips are thick cut, well fried and might be the best thick cut chips (fries) I've ever had in my life. The cod was similarly well fried, and delicious, enjoyed by our entire party.
The lunch service was friendly and helpful. The pizzas were a very good size.
You know it's a good review when I'm happy to post it before leaving. It has been a sweltering day in Salisbury and this was my last attempt to find a place to eat and relax. The staff are wonderfully welcoming, attentive, polite and sincere. I get the impression they're family perhaps but I'm wrong. They clearly have an appreciation for the precarious art of blending old English pubs with contemporary trends. The crowd was young to old, the food was uncomplicated and satisfying and they had a great beer, wine and cocktails menu. They even made me a decaf espresso martini. I'm from London, get over it. 🤣
Our first pub after arriving in the UK. It was delicious. Self serve ordering at bar style. We had Sausage and mash, soup, and Brie and cranberry appetizer. It was all very good. We would go back. Service was pleasant. We loved it was pet friendly and even met a local pup named Stanley.
Lovely place, came for a getaway with my partner , and after having an awful meal at grillado we needed to go somewhere to get the taste out of our mouth, so decided to pop in for a drink.
Polite , courteous and kind staff who are very helpful. Love the fact there is an open fire as we needed to defrost after being in the cold. Will definitely be back again.
Nice little pub dating back to the 14th century. Food was good. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Stopped for a pint while on a walking tour of Salisbury. Service was great, beer and atmosphere spot on. Would return.

Lovely place, very cozy. Food is tasty and they have my fav beer 👌 fav place in Salisbury, as they advertise I can leave hubby while Im shopping, I know he'll be safe 🍻
Very good indeed. The food was excellent and they did smaller portions for the kids rather than a kids menu. The staff were very polite, witty and generally very attentive. All in all a successful relaunch of an old Salisbury pub. I will definitely be returning. Prices possibly very slightly on the high side but that could be my age speaking!!
We were looking for a local pub to eat something and have a drink and The Bell & Crown more than met our expectations. Delicious steak and haddock, cask ale and friendly staff.
Hands down one of the best roasts I've ever had. The slow roasted shoulder of lamb was incredible and the staff were lovely. Highly recommend.
Amazing food, and the management are always lovely. The exterior of the building could use some work but understand that's not there fault due to the type of ownership
fantastic pub - came up for day trip with Mum . The food was amazing and the service was very nice
Beautiful pub with an open fire. Stopped off for a bite to eat for lunch after visiting the cathedral and were very happy, as was the dog who got a plate of ham.
Had a great night here... Special thanks to Callum (manager) .. he was very humble and kind... You're amazing Callum... !
Didn't eat but the staff are really friendly. Nice place for a quiet drink.
