Went in for a warming Sunday lunch on a wet and cold Sunday afternoon, and I must say loved an afternoon in a traditional but modernised county pub.
We requested to sit down in the bar side as the music and the atmosphere was just what was needed on a miserable day. My Girlfriend and I were served by a chatty and friendly waitress (Amy) who took time to go through the menu and what was still available (as we were quite late for a lunch service) I decided to go for the beef roast and my Girlfriend had the lamb shank... the food was absolutely delicious and very filling! Amy then tempted us into a warm brownie pudding which put the icing on the cake!!
After our lunch we decided to sit up by the bar and got chatting to John working behind the bar, he was very helpful with recommending drinks and introduced me to a lovely new Gin!
All in all we enjoyed our afternoon in a friendly country pub, its great to see a small village pub run by such a young, friendly couple. Would certainly recommend and will be back soon
Absolutely stunning place. Huge garden for children to play when the weather's good. Fantastic food x
Lovely food, lovely garden, lovely staff :)
Popped in today for a light lunch. Superb food and the service was excellent. The young man that served us was extremely polite and friendly with a nothing was too much attitude. We will definitely be coming back
Went to the Kings Head for the first time this evening. Fantastic bar, lovely atmosphere and really friendly bar staff. Was made to feel extremely welcome, the bar and restaurant area has been done up and looks great. Highly recommended! Can’t wait to go back.
Great meal last night thank you and the pub was really buzzing. Service was so friendly and efficient, loved it!
Great village pub, well worth the visit...
The staff were friendly and the food was very nice. The starters are small but the mains are very big. I had a risotto that I would have thought is like for 3 people! Burger was delicious. Affordable prices and very cozy place overall.
Outstanding service from start to finish
We missed the sign for the car park behind but turned around and found it second pass 😊
Checkin smooth and helpful
Room excellent. Couldn't ask for better
Pub was buzzing with Halloween party. We went to our table early for drunks. Serving staff were about the best we have experienced (yes...that good and attentive).
Food was really tasty. My minted lamb Korea was excellent
Breakfast service and food were as outstanding
Very impressed. A real gem. Highly recommended
Had Sunday lunch on Sunday with three friends. The food and the service was excellent.
We all had the roast beef, which was cooked to perfection.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the restaurant to anybody who enjoys good food.
The only complaint - why no custard.
We stayed at the Kings head and here's the review
The Hosts? They were very accommodating and made my boyfriends birthday very special. 10/10
How clean was our room? It had just a little bit of dust and a hole in the duvet and the light in the bathroom flickered but overall it was clean and fresh and a stunning view. 8/10
How were the Facilities? Would have preferred local biscuits and fresh milk but everything was amazing. 9/10
How was breakfast? Stunning!!!! All the food tasted local and well cooked and the little tiny pots of honey and jam were so cute.
And the all important question...would we stay here again?
100% Yes
A lovely country pub with excellent restaurant and eight well appointed rooms ideally located for Salisbury and the New Forest. Albeit a bit off the beaten track. Very friendly and capable staff who have clearly been well trained. We wish them continued success at the Kings Head.
A Delicious Feast with Outstanding Service!
The King's Head in Whiteparish is an absolute gem! The food here is incredibly tasty, and the staff are top-notch. Each bite was a flavor explosion, and the service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended for a delightful dining experience!

We had an excellent Sunday lunch here, food was great and service was outstanding. Great menu choices too! Will definitely return and can absolutely recommend
An amazing find in the New Forest. Great food, lovely dog friendly room with semi enclosed patio and plenty of space to roam outside. All the staff were lovely; the chef was particularly entertaining but special mention to the lovely Paula who was so friendly and brilliant at her job!
Fabulous find for our break away. Great rooms, very clean. Amazing food and very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again 🥰
Atmosphere - very clean, cosy country pub atmosphere. Not dark and dingey at all.
Service - polite, courteous and efficient
Food - delicious. Ordered the crab and crumpets for starters, chorizo scotch egg for starters for 2 ppl. For mains had the sausage and mash. Great modern take on classic British pub food. Very well presented and exceptional quality.
Price - 78 pounds for 2 starters, 2 mains, bottled water, a drink and crisps from the bar.
Conclusion - would go again and again. Such a lovely atmosphere and the food is great value and to a very high standard. In London, it would be roughly 150+ pounds easily. We went to the Pig, not far away but we felt Kings Head food was tastier and better value.
