Lovely home cooked food with friendly staff and unpretentious surroundings. As we were enroute to Devon it would have been nice to have the choice of an alcohol free beer. Perhaps sold out? Would definitely revisit. 👍👍
Homely place with great grub. Visited with a group of walkers for Sunday lunch. We pre-ordered our meals as timing was tight for us. The meals were served promptly and were very tasty...just like mum makes! The food was also ample and hot, and served with humour. Great place and lovely people.
This is a fairly typical village pub.
It does good pub food. For example, I have enjoyed excellent fish and chips, a good steak pie, and a variety of freshly made sandwiches.
They serve a variety of beers, which are served draught and are well kept.
There's a decent garden area outside with picni
Great pub great food and friendly staf. And a brit stop. Couldn't ask for more.
What a lovely friendly village pub, tour welcomed in by a friendly landlord or who ever is behind the bar. I've visited it several times now and it's always the same welcome. Great place and next I am down I'll be popping in!
Freshly cooked pork (which tasted of pork), fresh veggies, and fresh apple sauce for Sunday lunch. I shared the delicious home made apple pie, which left me licking my lips. The Landlord let me drink my own alcohol free beer, didn't charge corkage, and even offered a glass and ice with it. He and hi
Great food, warm welcome and some decent beers to boot! Perfect for a lunch time pit stop or an evening meal when the wood burner is firing in the winter. Recommended.
A lovely little pub serving great home cooked food, a good menu with specials as well. My only gripe is that some non alcoholic beverages apart from Pepsi and juices would be nice.
Visited for an evening meal today after prebooking in advance. Welcoming and friendly staff, very clean, warm and well kept atmosphere with fantastic fresh and tasty food. No fault whatsoever will definitely visit again
An oasis in an area not renowned for its great hostelries - Amesbury is a desert from the food standpoint. We travelled ten minutes south and thank goodness we did - fantastic steak, warm welcome and a great pint. All one could ask on a chilly day in Wiltshire.
Excellent service and amazing food served in a traditional pub atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Lovely atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and a great Sunday Roast, good home made cooking. We will return soon, thank you
We had lunch at the Black Horse and it was very good. We only had a sandwich and chips, but it was fresh produce and the owners are friendly and inviting.
Simple food done well, a good selection of drinks, and a perfect place to spend the odd sunny afternoon in the beer garden.
Great food and staff
I tool some tourists here for lunch after Stonehenge, the owners were great people, food was awesome! Going back again today with more tourists 🤣
