We were planning to go to a big chain restaurant but changed our mind and found this lovely pub restaurant. So glad we did, Very friendly staff, we had a table with a candle that gave a great feel, comfortable chairs. A fireplace completing the cosy feel. Food was fantastic with good portions of me
Quaint little pub, really quite busy however - so you need to either time it right or call in advance.
Cooked and made from scratch, or so we were told, so expect a bit of a wait - not suitble for a quick bite but the food is rrally good so definitely worth it.

The Menu was varied with sandwiches as well as main meals, the service was lovely and friendly. If you park in the George mall multistorey across the road you get a discount off y
Stumbled across this little gem. Cosy character pub. Had the home made lasagne and it was delicious and well presented. Staff very friendly and made you feel welcome. Reasonably priced so definitely worth a return visit.

Went for a Sunday roast. Reasonably priced with extras available for a few quid. Both adults and kids meals were good portion sizes and tasted delicious. Toilet was a little dated but it's an old pub so to be expected. Highly recommend booking.
Wet through from being rained on, we came in here for some refuge. The landlord was friendly and put the fire on for us to dry out. Lovely atmosphere and nice place to be. Enjoyed some nice wine. Will be back for sure.
Wow. What amazing food. Restaurant food at pub prices. 10 oz steak was superb. Ploughman's just amazing. Thankyou.
Food was excellent, fantastic quality and no short measures, compliments to the chef
Solid lunch spot classic British pub experience, though it's far more geared towards food! One of the best hunters chicken I've ever had, simple menu but effective

Hi Wig and Quill. Just wanted to thank you and say what a wonderful meal and time we had on 27th Dec. We were a party of 15 and were catered for very well even two children. The pub had a comfy and welcoming feel and the staff were lovely. We will certainly visit again. Pauline Bonito and families 😊
