As a theatre creator I've played The Kings Arms a lot over the years, but the last 2 years in particular have been my favourite. This is down to Lisa Connor and her fab, lovely, friendly staff. Nothing is ever too much for her and she goes the extra mile to make the experience memorable and enjoyable - it all stems from her and her attitude to make The Kings Arms so welcoming. From fantastic ales to food, from music to theatre and comedy (and knitting), this place is the cultural hub of the Salford/Manchester border. For theatre, music, film, comedy practitioners you could not ask for a more fantastic, flexible space as the upstairs theatre, there is also a studio theatre and even a cellar space, it's brilliantly flexible. A lot of famous future stars are gonna be cutting their teeth here, such a rich cultural history. The Kings Arms is a WINNER in every way, check it out and meet the Fab Lisa Connor and her staff, they'll welcome you and you'll have a fantastic time, can't wait to come back here. Quirky, down to earth, with real ales, snug and lounge, books to read, at least one performance space upstairs. Good chat from staff and regulars. A good independent traditional pub with a few modern hipster trimmings (herbal teabags spotted behind the bar, mural of an 80s pop legend - no not that one - in the gents). The no alcopops policy is softened by a broad range of I-cant-believe-it's-called-ciders (the pomegranite and strawberry one was good) and well known beers alongside half a dozen real ale taps.

Outstanding venue, great staff, good range of beers. Food is hot and tasty. Loads of atmosphere always seems to be something happening one of Salford's hidden gems. Highly recommended

A very beautiful building with original features. It has a wide range of ales, very friendly staff and a fab jukebox. It is a friendly welcoming place and somewhere you can really relax in. A vibrant space with music, theatre and comedy events being regularly held. They even have a knitting club! I may even attempt to learn to knit! X

Love the Kings Arms anyway but to see 5 top plays in the theatre was brilliant. Great atmosphere and superb acting and stageing. Can't wait to go again.

Came across this pub when trying to find somewhere to enjoy a bit of craic on a Sat night. Was close to the hotel so figured we'd give it a go. It was busy and there was a comedy night upstairs. Everyone was very friendly and the prices were great. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is because I had to go online and create an account to buy tickets to go into the comedy show even tho I was there - they had no way of taking money from us directly; and the ladies wcs were very compact and doors insecure. But we had a fab evening !!

This pub was once owned by Paul Heaton and that's why I wanted to go there when I'd ever visited Manchester. Finally made it there last week and it's a really great pub, so great we went back a few nights :). The service was perfect, I was even shown the upstairs room that is used for theatre and shows: so cool ! Only negative is that I was so impressed that i forgot to take a photo upstairs... I you're visiting Manchester, don't forget to go for a drink here, you won't regret it !!

Some interesting beers on tap, all served by friendly staff. There are a couple of rooms, so you can find a quieter area for a chat if needed. The modest beer garden is also available for your enjoyment in the unlikely event that Manchester experiences some decent weather.

Nice pint of Guinness for a fiver, a belting duke box and five star staff. Hidden gem on the Salford and Manchester border

Came here as Fresh Meat (Channel 4 show) was filmed here! Staff were very friendly and helpful! Had a few drinks very reasonably priced before going for dinner 🥰

Great traditional pub with a good range of drinks. Friendly staff & a warm atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit for a couple beers. I've not been in while the live music has been on but can imagine this would be a brilliant venue. I will be calling in again very soon.

Good small cozy theater for local theater projects! Went for a play here and would like to go back for more. However bar staff could be better with customer service. Felt like they didn't care about the orders and they were too busy talking to their friends. Bathrooms are horrible.

Nice pub to pop into for a drink. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting the cat unfortunately, but enjoyed all the graphics dotted around. Friendly atmosphere, good tunes.
