The Hungry Horse salford quays is a fantastic establishment very friendly and helpful staff food is amazing the price is more than reasonable very warm and welcoming plenty to offer i wud recommend anyone who stays in the salford quays area to try this place absolutely fantastic been here nearly 2nights and have been there for breakfast lunch and dinner and been very happy each time Fantastic place to be
Went here for food last night after a long week at work and had a great time. Staff were friendly, food portions were great for the price and the quality was superb. I had the mixed grill and my partner had the chicken skewers and we couldn’t finish there was that much food. The atmosphere in the place was that good that we ended up staying out a little later and having a few drinks.
Will definitely visit again!!

We had an excellent Sunday Dinner there yesterday really good price 2 for £12 and a big plateful. The lager was very reasonable too at £2.85 a pint I thought it would be a lot more than that with it being a tourist attraction. Definatly recommend anyone to go there !

eat here for two days with family of four, very family friendly with very helpful and polite staff with very reasonable prices, nice pint of larger server at bar, very nice pint actually, would highly recommend.
Ordered the smothered steak! Great flavors and toppings however the reason i wasnt able to give it a 5 was because of the way the steak was cooked, it was a bit overcooked. Still great though!!
me and my fiancee jayne went to this place on wednesday 18th september 2013 the night before my birthday and we had a lovely evening.we both chose to have the curry with a drink which was absolutely beautiful and we thought we would celebrate my birthday by have 3 bottles of italian sparkling wine which was also beautiful.i would reccomend this place to anybody also the staff where ever so friendly and helpful and also wished me a great birthday which was nice.
we will definately be going back and taking our friends next time who we go out with for meals and drinks on a regular basis.

Went to this place today chicken tikka, chips, macoronni cheese, chicken skewers, and I had mixed grill but forgot to picture it, to be fair is was pretty good value for money, the mixed grill I had the steak came to me well done, when I asked for medium rare and when it did come back the food had been stored in a warming rack so made chips soggy, but their was no problem as the server was excellent and nothing was a problem credit to your staff, definitely a return visit needed food was yummy
Brilliant straight across the road from the Ibis great for a Breakfast and great to sit looking over the Locks.
I only ones here, because there’s nothing else in the area, and I was very pleasantly surprised. For 8 quid. I’ve got half a roast chicken with quite tasty rice and a very fresh salad. For pub food, it wasn’t bad at all. Service was decent food didn’t take too long despite being very busy. Staff friendly
Pretty slow service and a lot of menu items not available. Food was really good. Prices are very attractive and the atmosphere was friendly so as staff. Overall I would definitely recommend it.

Food that we had was lovely. Unfortunately 3 of the puddings were off the menu and there were no hot drinks. Perhaps we could've been made aware of this when we ordered our mains. Every TV had football on screen. England v Wales rugby was playing at the same time. Woulve been nice to have some screens with this on
This pub has a wide range of drinks and has fast become our new 'local'.
You can't beat a pint of Boddies for £3 in Salford/Manchester.
Yet to try the food but the menu is your traditional pub grub.
It's always busy on match days at Old Trafford so be aware of that before popping in for a cheeky pint. 👍
I go to the matchstick quite often all the staff are great can't do enough for you make you feel welcome it's definitely a good place to have a laugh some nice food at affordable prices. You want some grub an few pints it's great they got multiple televisions for the football and you can really relax!
Visited for a family meal, found staff very helpful and talked us through the covid measures in place. Everywhere was clean and you seen a pub monitor keeping on top of it. Staff where helpful and friendly, from the bar staff to the ones who brought us our drinks and food and checked everything was okay for us. Ordered on the app and the food came fast and was well presented and all tasted great. Felt a safe place to eat out. Thank you
Visited The Matchstick Man a few times now, everytime I've been the staff are really really friendly, the outside seating area is great, the food is on par for the price, can't fault a Wednesday Curry Club, £6.50 with a pint 😯 the average pint is £5.50 so a Curry for a pound is fantastic, will try Steak Club on Monday and update, overall its a lovely pub with a friendly atmosphere 😀
Arrived here for a quick meal before heading home. We were told by staff that wait for food would be 30-40 minutes which I found puzzling because it wasn’t really busy. However the food came rather quickly. Staff are nice and friendly so if in the area for my next trip to Manchester will call in here.

We recently visited this restaurant in the afternoon for lunch and experience was awesome as the food and service was fabulous. We ordered Chicken New Yorker and Sunday special Chicken dish and both dishes were delicious. They'd offer good amount of discount on food.
Visited for the first time post lockdown yesterday and food was absolutely lovely, really enjoy ordering through the app, very efficient.
Only negative thing I have to say is about the garlic bread, the new style has less cheese, quite tough to bite into too. It was a little charred in areas, such a disappointment compared to the amazing ones they were serving pre lockdowns (photos below ones I have taken, and are from 2020 and then 2020, you can tell which is which).
