The food was amazing, and the service first class. Definitely go again. The flavours. Yummy š
Having pondered over Lunch I was advised by a fellow colleague of this place for it's twist on Indian and Scottish food, now being from Scotland anyone will tell you, Indian food to us Scots is like a calling of the guard, so I went to check it out!!!!
I was met by a great guy as soon as I entered the restaurant, he provided me a menu and gave me some time to choose while he continued with his table service.
I chose the Mince and Tatties curried style and I have to say it was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor and chickpeas, which I find work a treat with any curry.
I plan to take the whole family to dine in and enjoy the atmosphere.
I highly recommend a treat for your lunch if in the area.
Only point to make for me is I would of liked a little more of a portion for the cost, that being said, if you want quality then you pay for it.
If this place were in the centre of Manchester, the reservation waiting list would be weeks long! Inventive food, skillfully prepared and beautifully presented. Warm, friendly owner and staff. A must try!
Somewhere a little different if you're a lover of Indian food, this felt very authentic.
I loved the interior, the mural on the wall was fab, great colours.
The restaurant is based more on a tapas style of food served in the traditional tiffin tins.
Pappodoms to start were served crushed and drizzled, they were very tasty... Our second dishes 2 curries and a rice were slightly smaller than expected... We had nothing to go on as never been before... We also had 2 roti breads which were nice but came about 10 mins after the food was served.
We enjoyed the experience and the food was tasty... Should have ordered more... We will know for next time
We were so lucky to stumble upon Roti when staying nearby. We'd left it late to find an evening meal and I reckon that ideally, Sharif would have preferred we arrived earlier however this didn't detract from the attention and care he paid to us and the totally delicious food. Cool decor as well, a warm welcome and tasty food left us wanting for more. We'll be back. Thanks again Sharif.
Absolutely brilliant food, we just wandered in by chance whilst looking for a place for lunch while we were in the area. We were greeted by the lovely server and talked through the menu of Scottish/Indian fusion??! Sounds strange on paper but worked fantastically. Can't recommend this place enough, I want to eat the whole menu!
So glad we stopped here for food. The dishes were all so tasty and reasonably priced. There was one man working FoH and the service we received was incredible. Probably some of the best service I have ever experienced in a restaurant!
Great place! It's small so I'd recommend booking. Even on a cold wet tuesday night it was busy. Food is excellent. Didnt know Indian Scottish tapas existed before eating here. Nice and relaxed but attentive service. Theyve got that spot on. Alastair was really helpful with choices. Will definitely be back.
Loved this place. An Indian street food restaurant with a slight Scottish twist to some dishes. Everything we had was lovely. Will definitely be back. Well worth a visit.
I wanted to go here for ages and finally my partner booked a table!
We parked in the sainsburys car park as it was free after 6 pm and walked over to roti. The place was rammed when we got there, so I'm really glad we booked, only had to wait three minutes or so, and were seated.
The owner is super friendly and is excellent at managing his young team and keeping the drinks and food flowing.
Don't expect spicy large dishes; this is more of a tapas, and the food is Scottish and Indian fusion. The owner is Indian and from Edinburgh.
My partner was very impressed with the haggis pokarah. I loved the cute wee pani puries.
My partner was really excited to dig into his fried Mars bar and ice cream, apparently a Scottish thing (he's from glasgow) and I loved my gulabjaman cheesecake though need to be more generous with the gulabjaman and less so with the cream cheese.
The dishes we tried were presented beautifully and so delicious We were totally stuffed, so glad for the walk back to our car so we could work it off.
Hidden Gem! Found in a part of sale I donāt know existed. Small Indian tapas dishes perfect for exploring asian food with a twist. Relaxed eating, attentive staff. Well worth a try! Plan your parking maybe I got it wrong but closest parking for me was a 5-10min walk away..
Pssst must try the deep fried mars bar & ice cream (see pic)
What a delight. I went to Roti on a Tuesday night and returned again within the same week to try more dishes, including the battered Mars bar desert! The food is consistently good, follows a great theme, and definitely offers something different to the usual. Think Mowgli - but better - meets Bundobust with a Scottish edge which makes for a fun delight. The āproperdomsā are great as a starter, and for me the spicy cauliflower cheese and chippy roti were extraordinarily good - the roti took me back to eating curry chips in Balloch looking over Loch Lomond. Will be back and would suggest you go too!
Absolutely the best food and service! Would eat all my meals there if it was plausible. The gentleman serving us was an absolute gem. Love, love, love
Tried Roti- Sale for the first time this Sunday. Absolutely delicious. We made it in time for the Sunday evening Ā£15 drink and dine offer which was insanely good value for money. Plenty of gluten free options (though noted fryer foods-risk of contamination) also cater for veggie/vegan too. Highly recommended, canāt wait to revisit.
Wonderful, tasty food and lovely cocktails! Definitely give it a try. Friendly staff with great advice on what to try
Indian street food with a Scottish twist which was really good. Tapas style, portion size was OK for 2 people sharing
We had a really good experience at Roti in Sale. The food tastes authentic and the service was excellent.
The staff were attentive and made sure they catered to our every need. Finding Indian restaurants that are authentic is difficult and I havenāt found one for a while. The food reminded me of home and when my mum used to cook. Recommend to anyone who loves authentic Indian food.
Lovely set of dishes to choose from, almost spoilt for choice!
Nice little place! Very well done interiors. Itās a great fusion food. As the board says itās not your typical Indian joint. Service was very good!
